A New York man is accusing the New York Police Department of taking his Mercedes-Benz CL Coupe for a spin while he was locked up in jail. The New York Post reports 25-year-old Rashad Lewis was taken into custody on the third of August after officers stopped him for running several red lights. After searching his car, police found 13 fraudulent credit cards. Both Rashad and his passenger, Gregg Humphreys, were charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument and booked in Manhattan. Rashad eventually made bail and was released a week later, and on August 15, he received a ticket from a red light camera showing his car blowing through an intersection.Mercedes-Benz CL-Class

Except Rashad was cooling his heels in a New York City lockup at the time. Either the police or a civilian employee of the department was having a good time with the Mercedes-Benz.

Wonder if the redlightcam caught an image of the driver?

I’d love to see how this turns out. Gonna follow up?

Worked with a guy once who had a ’67 Camaro that he took to Mexico to score some dope. Got arrested and spent 6 months in jail. He said he could see through his window the cops running up & down the street, burning rubber in his Camaro. When he got out the Camaro was totally trashed. ‘Tough Chit’ the Federalies said.

Since unionization of the police force and overbearing bureaucracy, we have turned ourselves into a third-world country. Nobody cares; Tough Chit.

Is it no wonder that Obysmal is leading in the polls?

Then to top it off… George is trying to bribe a hooker for information and his girlfriend walks up and sees him handing money to a fucking whore!
That’s the funniest fucking thing I ever saw on tv!

And excuse me for asking, but WTF is 25 year old Mr. Rashad Lewis doing owning an ‘MSRP: $127,565′ vehicle anyway?

I mean, I’m sure he’s a real wizz, only 3 years out of college (he said with tongue planted firmly in cheek), but having that kind of bread at 25 is a bit, shall we say, suspicious?

Wonder who’s credit or credit cards he used to buy the Mercedes?
It was probably not purchased legally so why is he so concerned about the cops taking it for a spin?

Odd that the evidence he’s using against the police is for the same crime that got him stopped in the first place. Maybe there was an incorrect date/time stamp on the red light camera and Lewis was actually driving?

How about the NYPD officer who got fired for writing tickets to deceased people to fill his “quota”?

    @ Rosco

Not all cops are mindless bureaucrats. Some of us actually care about law, justice, morals and ethics. And we care about people too. We try our best to uphold the law and keep politics out of it all. Sometimes, it’s tough to toe the line and keep the admin off your back…..
