He’s Fundamentally Transforming Medicare… Into RyanCare

Obama More Flexible on Medicare Than Rhetoric Suggests

In his convention speech in Charlotte, President Obama vowed to block the Republican Medicare reform plan because “no American should ever have to spend their golden years at the mercy of insurance companies.”

But back in Washington, his Health and Human Services Department is launching a pilot program that would shift up to 2 million of the poorest and most-vulnerable seniors out of the federal Medicare program and into private health insurance plans overseen by the states.

The administration has accepted applications from 18 states to participate in the program, which would give states money to purchase managed-care plans for people who are either disabled or poor enough to qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid. HHS approved the first state plan, one for Massachusetts, last month.

Is there something wrong with Sebelius’ thumb in that picture? Looks like she’s been spinning on it so long it’s become warped – like her mind.

Two million of the poorest? Maybe two million undecided voters who need to be swayed. Assurance to seniors that medicare will be there? An overripe carrot on a termite infested stick.

At the mercy of insurnce companies? Really? So the answer is to turn health care over to a gummit agency that will be staffed with political appointees with zero experience, who cannot be fired, do not have to perform or compete, is RIPE for congressional corruption, has zero incentive to keep costs under control, and uses the Post Office as a role model? Suuuuuuuuuuure.

“no American should ever have to spend their golden years at the mercy of insurance companies.”

Instead, they to get spend them at the mercy of the government. Administered by the IRS who will cross-check your healthcare with charitable contributions so that those who support Republicans or unfavored religions will get their healthcare denied.

I suggest we all go back to school and train to be CNA’s, where we can welcome Supercilious, Rahm, Obama and Michelle when they are admitted to our nursing home. I never got to play Nurse Diesel in the movies, but feel like I can handle it. There will be little to no mercy. Same as you gave us.

What’s this? Dumping poor and high risk patients onto private companies? Just like Moochie used to do at U Chicago. Imagine that.
