Clint Eastwood Speaks – MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

Carmel Pine Cone -

AFTER A week as topic No. 1 in American politics, former Carmel Mayor Clint Eastwood said the outpouring of criticism from left-wing reporters and liberal politicians after his appearance at the Republican National Convention last Thursday night, followed by an avalanche of support on Twitter and in the blogosphere, is all the proof anybody needs that his 12-minute discourse achieved exactly what he intended it to.

“President Obama is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people,” Eastwood told The Pine Cone this week. “Romney and Ryan would do a much better job running the country, and that’s what everybody needs to know. I may have irritated a lot of the lefties, but I was aiming for people in the middle.”

“….President Obama is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people….”

I would make one small change to that statement.

President Obama is the MOST DANGEROUS hoax ever perpetrated on the American people.

Other than that, Clint, thanks for that statement of truth. I just wish that more of your peers in Hollywood would come out and speak more of it.

“President Obama is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people”

Any sensible, experienced person who has observed history and human nature could see that in 2007.

The shallow, uninformed and young who are easily swayed by style rather than substance sadly fell for the scam.

Now we’re all paying for it in spades.(Get yer dog whistles here!)

I have more respect for Mr. Eastwood today. I still think his stance on social issues is messed up, but, at least he gets the problem in America is the left….

The MSM was upset because a Hollywood icon, Clint Eastwood, made an appearance at the Republican National Convention. Mr. Eastwood could have given the talk he did, or spoken as eloquently as Martin Luther King, Jr., or just stood there and said nothing – it would not have mattered to the Andrea Mitchells of the world because the damage was done when Mr. Eastwood walked on stage.

Mr. Eastwood’s persona is like that of John Wayne – independent, successful, thinking for himself and his own man. This is not what a liberal Democrat wants in Americans, and Mr. Eastwood’s decision to appear at the Republican convention was as great a repudiation of the DNC’s current direction as anything the politicians said.

Clint Eastwood put a very successful image in people’s mind–the empty chair and it will resonate for quite a while. That was brilliant even if it was a last minute thought on his part. He dug into what little brains the Dims have and is residing there!

I have to say that I feel a tinge of pride anytime “Dirt Harry” is mentioned. Not that this means anything in particular to anybody in this community, but my cousin Dean(Riesner) wrote the screenplay for “Dirty Harry” and a bunch of other projects for Mr. Eastwood (go to IMDb for details).

When Dean died ten years ago, I was hoping Eastwood would show up at the memorial service, but unfortunately he did not.

I read this write-up at Drudge a few minutes ago, and I loved it almost as much as Eastwood’s speech!

Talk about brilliant. The fact that he improvised the whole thing and came up with the empty chair prop at the last second is really, really impressive.
    It shows true creative genius.

Like I said earlier, millions of dollars have been spent on “professionals” and “consultants”, with their airy-fairy words, Greek columns, etc. and they don’t have a clue.

Clint’s RNC speech will go down in history as having a greater impact in the upcoming election than Tina Fey’s portrayal of Sarah Palin in 2008.
