    BFH–I cannot believe you know this song. It was my parents’ wedding song oh so many, many years ago. Brings a tear to my eye. Thanks for the memories!

    I’ll say one thing for Obumphuk, he has told the American people what his intentions are – first one was to “fundamentally transorm America”, and now that “we belong to the government”.

    Four years ago, nobody in their right mind had any idea that his fundamental transformation was to gut America’s greatness and knock us down to a second-tier global power and domestically lower the population to subservient status.

    You independents and fence sitters listen and think carefully, because in the next four years, YOU BELONG TO THE GOVERNMENT. You were warned.

    That voice sounds like the spookiest actor out there this side of Christopher Walken: TOBIN BELL.

    And, while Jo Stafford’s was the big hit (in 1952 when I was in kindergarten), the version I remember is the Duprees’, the best high-school slow-dance song out there (remember slow dancing?)

    When I taught school, I taught my students that their rights came from God and that we were the Government. Guess I was doing it wrong.

    The populace has *always* belonged to the government, but especially so from the 20th Century onwards. It is against the law for you to kill yourself; however, the governmnent does have the right to kill you. The government has granted assorted companies and universities *patents* on your genetic material. It is against the law for you to ingest certain chemicals/organic compounds without written permission. It is against the law for you to ingest certain other chemicals/organic compounds entirely. It is against the law for you to purchase medicines outside the US which are completely legal here, and completely legal (and cheaper) in a foreign country, and bring them home with you. And on, and on, and on.
