Campaign for Obama, get college credit

A public university in Colorado may have violated state law by offering students course credit if they volunteered with President Obama’s re-election campaign. A blog post on the Adams State University website billed the opportunity as a “12 week long organizing internship for the Obama Campaign.”

Both the blog post and the course are now gone. The course was canceled due to lack of interest, according to the university. The blog post was taken down earlier this week after a conservative student blog, Campus Reform, reported on it.

The course may have been in violation of the Colorado Fair Campaign Practices Act, which prohibits the use of public resources toward “campaigns involving the nomination, retention, or election of any person to any public office.” Oliver Darcy, the editor at Campus Reform who first reported the story, said the course struck him as a likely violation of state law.

We need the name of the professor who cooked this up. Cheap bastard. Wanted to use free labor instead of donating to the campaign with his own money.

‘The course was canceled due to lack of interest…’

Encouraging ! It’s no shock the left gives not a crap for the law.

Seems Ryans’ faded poster comment hit the bullseye.

Of course, campaigning for Obama will be mandatory when he runs for his 3rd or 4th term.

No one wants to back a loser, and I think these college kids sense that Obama is just that.

Whoever made this decision should be fired or lose their teaching credentials based on the laws of integrity.

The school should be fined, penalized and banned from any future gubment loans or grants if the school was behind this.

Campaign for Obama, get college credit.

Campaign for Romney, fail your required “diversity” course required class… you know like… “The Audacity of the Vagina” or “White People Suck” or “Rim Jobs and their Effect on Colonial Society.”

From Nutjob: “Whoever made this decision should be fired or lose their teaching credentials based on the laws of integrity.”

Don’t think there are any “laws” like that. Shame about that though. Our CEO, before the buyout, made a big thing about ethics. “We’ll avoid even the appearance of impropriety”, he said multiple times in internal video used for training. Then during the negotiations with the buyer, he did shit you wouldn’t believe. Still got the “package”, all those millions. Situational ethics seem to be the standard today.

“The Obama campaign did approach the school. Others campaigns did not,” she said, adding that the school would have considered a similar offer from the Republican campaign of Gov. Mitt Romney.

Romney knew it was illegal. So did Obama.

THEY’RE GONNA’ PUT Y’ALL BACK IN CHAINS!

This just one step in being well rounded in the wishful thinking for ab Obamanation. In addition to freebie campaign labor, at the right university OWS participation gets extra credit too.

    ROMNEY / RYAN 2012!

When my oldest son was a sophomore in high school, there was an anti-Bush (claimed to be “anti-war”) rally started by some of the teachers. It was off campus but it started during 6th period, NOT after school ended. If you showed up, you got class credit and got to go home without going back to school.

My son attended (and his reason was the same as those he asked) and asked some of the other students, “So you’re here to protest the war?” Almost to a person they answered, “No. I just wanna go home early.”

    @Lowell,

I agree, but most places have a mission statement. If fairness or equality is 1 of them he should be fired.

2ndly, if its a not for profit……and pays no taxes they have to offer an apposing party equal opportunity or lose government funding.
