Yahoo News Bureau Chief Caught on Hot Mic
Newsbusters -
During live coverage of the Republican National Convention here in Tampa, Yahoo News Washington bureau chief David Chalian provided the perfect example of the pervasive anti-Republican bias Mitt Romney faces in his bid to unseat President Barack Obama.
In video broadcast Monday night by ABC and Yahoo over the Internet, Chalian can be heard claiming that GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his wife Ann are unconcerned about the fate of residents of the New Orleans area who are currently being hit by Hurricane Isaac.
“They aren’t concerned at all,” Chalian can be heard on the live broadcast. “They are happy to have a party when black people drown.”
That line elicits laughter from several employees listening in on the joke.

Yeah, they should have been on a campaign fund raiser like The Big “O”

At first blush it appears unreasonable to hold a candidate to a higher standard than elected officials but on reflection the Yahoo News Chief seems to understand that Romney would handle the situation better than the President.

And now he’s gone. The moron. But it only baits the question–how did such a biased and incompetent person get to the position he was in in the first place? Because of the culture of anti-conservative bias which tolerated him, that’s how.

Good news. Send him down to NOLA so his sympathetic airheaded self can save blacks from drowning.
I was going to mention that I went over to Yahoo News's feedback page to request the same: David Chalian. I was pleasantly surprised to see the page filling with similar comments.
And lo, it has come to pass! They'll probably reinstate him next week a la Fareed Zakplagiarism.

from Politico:
>>UPDATE (1:30 p.m.): Yahoo News confirms:
“David Chalian’s statement was inappropriate and does not represent the views of Yahoo!. He has been terminated effective immediately. We have already reached out to the Romney campaign, and we apologize to Mitt Romney, his staff, their supporters and anyone who was offended.”

Tell me again why Mitt Romney would be responsible for any non-action by Obama, Mayor Ray “Chocolate City” Nagin, or Governor Jindal? Oh wait! He wouldn’t. He’s NOT in the chain of command. It would be worse than irresponsible for either one of those three to consult with Mr. Romney. He has no authority to force any action to be taken.
However, if Mr. Romney was to offer his services as a relief administrator, pulling together private resources that are willing to assist, that would be quite laudable but not required.
On the other hand, Obama, Nagin, and Jindal are required to take action immediately. They should already have a plan in place and it should have been put in motion a least one week ago.
I’m sure we all remember the democrat fiasco of Hurricane Katrina. Then Governor Blanco did everything in her power to make GWB look bad. She called and spoke with, not the current FEMA administrator, but instead spoke with Clinton’s FEMA administrator, who had no authority and should have slammed the phone in her ear. But they concocted a plan to blame Bush because it fit their agenda.
But now we’re hearing about the heroic efforts of Obama and Nagin preparing for Isaac because they don’t want it to be another Katrina. Democrats are all phookin’ scum. I hope these dirtbags all burn in hell.

Because Romney and the RNC clearly set up the schedule of the convention to coincide with the most likely date of a hurricane.

1] Romney has no more responsibility here than you or I.
2] There aren’t any reports of drowned people.
3] Flag on the play for race obsession.

Since Yahoo has done the right thing, I expect the RNC to do the right thing and either identify who their delegates were that said “This is how we feed the animals” or why the doofus RNC spokesman denounced what was a liberal stunt.

Good.
He should never again work in “journalism”, and it should serve as a warning to the rest of the media: you serve at our pleasure. Yahoo News clearly feared a massive backlash from tens of million of Americans boycotting the site if they hadn’t immediately acted.
Newsbusters claims another scalp. Keep it up, gentlemen.

Republican racism and hate is on display to the world – just because you think yours doesn’t smell, doesn’t mean it’s not obvious to the rest of humanity. Can’t take a joke? – must be hitting too close to home.
