A Likeability Downgrade

Home - by - August 29, 2012 - 17:00 America/New_York - 20 Comments

American Thinker

Apparently, how “likeable” a candidate impacts how people vote. And polls seem to indicate that Obama is more “likeable” than Mitt Romney.

No surprises there.

The only reason Obama is ahead in the polls on the likeability factor is because the media has painted him as they have.

They have made his cartoonish grin into a warm smile. They have decided that his past does not matter. They have covered his lies. They have downplayed his dubious associations. They have ignored his hatred for America.

No one nailed this issue so perfectly as Allen West in a recent interview (around the one min mark).

But now it seems we’ve sunk below chattering about Mitt Romney’s level of likeability, as it is unclear to some if Mitt Romney can even be categorized as human.

But the task at hand remains: to use the most-watched moment of the Republican presidential campaign to humanize Mr. Romney in the eyes of voters…

I know we all take jabs at liberal rags and some even say we should stop referencing them.

But these media outlets have a powerful influence on the thinking of a large portion of the electorate. And when the media becomes propaganda, it is our duty to call them out every chance we get.

About as likeable as a hemorrhoid. imho it is a waste of time trying to convince true believers that this guy is a nasty ill mannered low class lout. If voters sitting on the proverbial fence haven’t figured him out by now….

Is that a real photo? LLLLOOOOOLLLLLLLL

    =======

In this cycle, the 3 main variables to consider are:

    -Obama’s job approvals (around 43%)
    - voting intentions (around 47%)
    -Romney’s favorability ratings (net negative)

Obama’s voting intentions are higher than his job approval ratings because undecided voters like Obama more than Romney.

    What could change this?
A massive emphasis on Romney’s biography, allowing Romney to reboot his image, improve his likeability among swing voters.

Yeah, Cuba Gooding, Jr. definitely took a drop in popularity from “Jerry Maguire” to “Snow Dogs”. That’s who’s picture it is, right?

Low class? I eat arugula, you plebian insect! I graduated from both Columbia (and Colombia *sniff*) and Harvard, peasant! I come from the Punahou School – the very upper crust of Hawaiian, and I am *totally* Hawaiian, by the way, society, you diseased mongrel cur!

Likeability? That’s bullshit. According to Edward Stein’s book,”The Amature” those who have had close dealings with him detest him. He can’t be trusted.

Wouldn’t it be awesome if the mystery speaker at the convention was a Democrat out of his administration that got up to the podium, turned Patriot and came clean on this guy.

Moe Tom, Maybe, although I guess Rush said not today. Eastwood is conservative, but actually more of a Libertarian. James Caan would be cool. Drudge is reporting Rowdy Yates is on his way.

Why are we giving the topic of likeable any air at all?

My first Presidential vote was for Reagan. I don’t remember any likeable ratings then or for any race since then.

I like the guy that made my breakfast tacos. I don’t want him running my country.

Mark Levin also trashed the Won’s likeability yesterday on his radio show. He did a thorough job of asking how “nice” it really is to ___________ (fill in the blank). Anyway, a great argument against barry’s “niceness.”

No rational adult can observe Barack Obama’s behavior, and conclude that he’s a likable character. Insufferable, yes. Knowing Michelle as we do, I’m sure she doesn’t like him either.

I believe only Valjar really likes 0 and that’s because he let’s her run the White House, actually he wants her to, as he is scared to go potty without Valjar or do anything for that matter.
This guy makes Carter look like a great president.
