California is on the verge of allowing hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants to receive driver’s licenses for the first time in nearly two decades.
The key question is how to do it.
The issue of granting driver’s licenses to undocumented immigrants has raged in the Legislature for much of the past decade, without resolution, but fighting is largely moot now due to a new federal policy.
President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals gives a select group of undocumented immigrants the right to live and work in the United States for two years without fear of deportation.
California is laying the groundwork for extending the privilege to driving, too, for an estimated 400,000 immigrants.

The other 49 need to pass laws disallowing Cali drivers in their states, effectively forcing the illegal alien drivers and those about to be released from prison to stay in Cali. Cross the line – go to jail, and send the incarceration fees to Cali. Give ‘em a free ride to the Cali line when their time’s done.
If you’re going to pass laws that affect the rest of the nation, turnabout’s fair play.

What’s the difference? They are already driving, voting and collecting welfare. Most drive like shit and are uninsured. if they get a ticket the judge reduces the fine (fairness). The rest of us pay higher insurance rates, get no reductions in fines and pay for their education. We even have a Departamento de Vehículos Motorizados de California.
4 more years and my last kid is off to college. I only hope I can last last long in the bowels of liberal serfdom.

California’s 2009 Mileage Death Rate (MDR) was 0.95 fatalities per 100 million miles traveled. This is much better than the national MDR of 1.14 deaths per million miles. Let’s see how long this lasts.

Enh. They already drive anyway. Now they just get to make IDs useless, which is fine by me, anyway. A free people shouldn’t have to show IDs for just about everything under the sun.

This is not just a CA thing… every blue state is probably looking at doing the same thing. Obama’s outrageous overreach of allowing “young” illegals to get work permits has opened the door to their also getting drivers licenses.
