New Study Shows Academia Discriminates Against Conservatives
Who would have predicted the results of this study?
The Daily Caller cites a new study which suggests liberal bias on America’s college campuses is not just a figment of conservative imagination.
Any student who’s ever tried to attend a campus speech by Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin or any other conservative figure already knows this is true but scientific confirmation is always a good thing.

I know several people from my college years who are now leftist professors. What they have in common is that they arrived on college campus with no identity and desperately wanted to be part of some group, so they hung around with similar type folks who all sat around and told each other how cool and smart they were. It was a big circle-jerk of losers, and they convinced themselves of their own intellectual superiority. Now, several decades later, these same people are smug, insufferable, condescending leftists who are convinced they are the nation’s smartest people. They are the type of ignorant assholes who would tell someone working in the blockhouse during Apollo moon launches that the moon landing was a hoax; they would tell a mechanical engineer with a background in metalurgy that the twin towers fell because of some evil plot by Bush; they would tell a stock broker with several licenses and a quarter century of experience how the stock market works, etc. And what’s more, they believe their own bullshit. I have no doubt whatsoever that they would go out of their way to give a conservative a raw deal, and they would be gleeful about it.
Our universities need to be purged of these self-aggrandizing halfwits.

I’m sorry – I should express gratitude for for the validation of what so many of us already know to be true. I guess I’m past the point of needing the validation about some topics. Perhaps this will help people still in the fray to get some traction to redress what is so blatant a practice that it would turn me away if I were of college age today, unless I could get into some place like Hillsdale.
I really regret AB didn’t get to this particular subset of critical reportage before he died. He nailed the problem in his book.

When I received word that I had passed my oral defence for my PhD (Plumbing and heating degree) the professor shook my hand and said “You’ve only got two strikes against you – your sex and your color.”
Academia discriminates on a bunch of different levels.

I lived the subtle and not so subtle discrimination when I went back to school in 2006 to finish my BA in political science and then went on to get my MA in history. I can honestly say that a fair number of my professors were pretty fair minded in opening the floor to multiple opinions and tried to keep their personal politics out of it. One professor in my graduate program who was the same age as I was a raging liberal bitch. We went head to head a couple of times and I would not back down when it got personal–coming from her side, not mine. She did not like the fact that 1) I was a conservative, 2) my husband was (and is) in the military, and 3) that at 40 I wasn’t going to take her shit.
