    Visitation Set For Wheaton Volleyball Star Killed In St. Louis

    WHEATON, Ill. (CBS) — Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, and the funeral for Thursday, for 23-year-old Megan Boken – the Wheaton native who was killed in St. Louis this past weekend.

    As WBBM Newsradio’s Steve Miller reports, visitation for Boken will be held from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at her alma mater, St. Francis High School, at 2130 W. Roosevelt Rd. in Wheaton. The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael Catholic Church, at 314 W. Willow Ave. in Wheaton.

    Megan Boken, 23, was killed Saturday afternoon while sitting in her car in the Central West End neighborhood of St. Louis.

    One of Boken’s close friends was her former college roommate and volleyball teammate Bridget Fonke.

    “I really want to make this funeral and this ceremony a big celebration, like a big party, because that’s what she would have wanted,” Fonke said.

    Boken’s teammate Sarah Entzeroth said earlier this week, “There is no way she knew this person. No way. Not possible. We don’t hang out with people that have guns, or that carry guns, or that hurt people. No one that knew Megan Boken would ever hurt her.”
