Here come the lefty word spinners

Now Steve King is going to get swept up in the Akin flap because of the repulsive Talking Points Memo site.

This is their headline:

I’ve Never Heard Of A Girl Getting Pregnant From Statutory Rape Or Incest

What would you think if you saw this headline? You’d think, “oh geez, King is an asshat.” And that’s exactly what TPM is hoping, and all their fellow shitballs, Mediaite, Salon, The Daily Beast, Think Progress, The Daily Krotch, have begun marching to the idiot beat.

Here is what King said -

The reporter asked King about a bill he put forward last year that would have barred federal Medicaid funds from going towards abortions except when the life of the mother is in danger or in the case of “forcible rape.” (The current law just makes an exception for “rape,” without the forcible part.) The new terminology would most likely prevent people who become pregnant from incest or statutory rape–when an adult has sex with someone under the age of consent–from accessing Medicaid-funded abortions. King told the reporter he didn’t know of anyone who had become pregnant under those circumstances.

“Well I just haven’t heard of that being a circumstance that’s been brought to me in any personal way, and I’d be open to discussion about that subject matter,”

Rep. Steve King: I’ve Never Heard Of A Girl Getting Pregnant From Statutory Rape Or Incest

This doesn’t mean he doesn’t think someone can get pregnant because of a rape, statutory or otherwise. The twisting of the meaning is despicable.

    BFH,
You are correct about a new line of lefty attacks. Akin and King are good friends and the it will be easy for them to tie them together. The left will then be able to shape the entire dialogue on abortion and social issues.
Todd Akin is a good man, a very good man, but by staying in the race the dems will attempt to tie all Republicans to him and take the focus off of Obummer.
The GOP may have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory over the way they handled this. What ever comes out of this, one thing is for certain. the Party establishment have successfully pissed off every Akin primary voter, along with half of everyone else.
This is not a good way to run a Party, you would think that they would get the hang of it someday.

He fucked up, the Left hit him hard with it and the Right dropped their support for him. Lesson to be learned. Maybe some kind of special speech class or a grill over the face to keep the foot out?

I say stupid shit a lot. At least here I have the option to edit it so there is no excuse.

He has to use his real name though.
