Time is a fickle whore
August 20th, 2012
It’ll happen to us all.
The only good role he ever played
August 21st, 2012
God willing, indeed. In between when I first commented and now, my wife informed me that a close friend passed unexpectedly. He was in our wedding.
Rest in Peace my dear friend Kevin.
Let me guess, Brad: in Blade Runner ?
He plays a good role in civil aviation, he is/was the young eagles president.
His chin says it’s 6:30, but it looks like his nose is running 10 minutes fast.
“American Graffiti” hey? Never seen it yet.
no dude, Actually I think it was one of his first, American Graffiti, But suddenly I seem to recollect him is some black and white ww2. Little help here.
I really liked the Indiana Jones when I was a kid !!
It’s Amercana, It’s us. That was a great time. And damn good music. Don’t get me wrong I’m not that old.
“Don’t look at it, Marion!”
A lot of people didn’t notice him as the reel to reel tape machine operator at the beginning of Apocalypse Now.
Old York, OY
I saw American Graffiti when it first came out at the Westwood theater. They had the yellow hot rod parked out front of the theater, the one that raced against the 56 chevy driven by the guy in the picture above who needs a nose alignment.
Damn, they had a hell of a good sound system there.
Wolfman Jack Rocks!!!
I just shared this with my teenager. Great piece. Thanks so much.
Ooops. Wrong Thread — meant to put this with the Kirsch article.
At first glance I thought it was Dr Wayne Dyer. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but still. Separated at birth? http://www.turnbacktogod.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/dr-wayne-dyer.jpg
“In 2003, he accepted the Oscar for ‘Best Director’ on behalf of Roman Polanski, who wasn’t present at the awards ceremony, being a fugitive from U.S. justice since fleeing the country in 1978.”
His nose is as misaligned as his moral compass.
Sorry to hear about your friend, ruble.
I bet not too many folks remember him in his role as Henry Winkler’s Vietnam buddy in “HEROES”. Sally Field was also in it and it was a damn good film. Winkler was excellent and the closing scene with the “Carry on Wayward Son” song by Kansas was awesome.
I remember being introduced to Henry Winkler by a mechanic I worked with when I was in the middle of a brake job. So surprised was I to see him and to see how really short he was without his elevating tv shoes that I forgot about all the grease and brake dust on my hands. After I shook his hand and watched him as he looked at his now dirty hand I realized that I just lost any chance of a lasting friendship with him.
He was a really nice guy though. He sent my wife an autographed photo for her birthday after all that.
@ Bad Brad:
“Force 10 From Navarone”. It was the sequel to “The Guns of Navarone”.
He didn’t do too bad after starting out in Hollywood as a carpenter building sets.
Yeah…but look at how ugly the years have been to his co-pilot from Star Wars
While we’re being catty about looks, he’s got that Obama nose wart thing.
At least Ford’s nose is trying to hide it.
I'm Your Huckleberry
his co-pilot?? had a sex change thingy? lol..
I had no idea Chewy, would clean up so nice…
so if this is real…”Do you let the wookie win”?
I still like the guy even though he soiled himself with star wars.
He flies his own helicopter, sometimes for rescue.
Stirrin the B.S.
Ya gotta remember that Harrison Ford performed his own stunts in his Indiana Jones movies, even when he was in his 60′s. That might account for the bent nose.
It’s nice to see he lost that silly ear ring he always wears.
at the 26 second mark (thru 49 seconds):
harrison ford in a prior life?
He’s more of a man than I’ll ever be, but his looks sure went South over the years.
Blade Runner is still a classic role for him…if you saw Cowboys v. Aliens he is aging well in the movie industry.
Boobie the Rocket Dog
@ Bad Brad – Without looking I’ll guess– American Graffiti.
@ B.B. – Ah yes, James Coburn, one of my all-time favs.
Carlos The Jackal
On the plus side, he’s a natural for any of Ben Kingsley’s roles…
I wish my looks aged as well, but then that’s why he’s a movie star. Perfect example of why older actors continue to get roles while older actresses do not.
Could be worse; could be Alec Baldwin.
Loved Star Wars (original trilogy). Loved Indiana Jones (Raiders and Last Crusade). Loved the Tom Clancy Series (Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger).
He’s certainly made some duds but he’s made some great movies. I don’t care for his personal life. He’s a great actor…..
Forgot about The Fugitive. Awesome movie!!!!
I wonder if this is from the set of Ender’s Game? I think he’ll be a good Colonel Graff.
Here’s his 1st but just an extra:
