As long as it isn’t something from the no-feed list, yeah they get tid-bits from my plate and get to lick it as well. My dogs are the children I never had.

Yep, throw that beast in the dishwasher with the dishes, and don’t have to pre-scrub at all….

Actually I’d faint if my cat ate anything but hard catfood. The nutcase turns away from real food.

When my dog was alive, YES, but just the food residue before the dish went directly into the dishwasher. The cats now aren’t interested in what I eat, except one tries to drink from my water glass but I shoo him away.

This isn’t new but it always breaks me up:

John went to visit his 90 year old grandfather in a very secluded, rural area of Georgia.

After spending a great evening chatting the night away, John’s grandfather prepared breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast. However, John noticed a film like substance on his plate, and questioned his grandfather asking, “Are these plates clean?”

His grandfather replied, “They’re as clean as cold water can get them. Just you go ahead and finish your meal, Sonny!”

For lunch the old man made hamburgers. Again, John was concerned about the plates as his appeared to have tiny specks around the edge that looked like dried egg and asked, “Are you sure these plates are clean?”

Without looking up the old man said, “I told you before, Sonny, those dishes are as clean as cold water can get them. Now don’t you fret, I don’t want to hear another word about it!”

Later that afternoon, John was on his way to a nearby town and as he was leaving, his grandfather’s dog started to growl, and wouldn’t let him pass. John yelled and said, “Grandfather, your dog won’t let me get to my car”.

Without diverting his attention from the football game he was watching on TV the old man shouted …

Are you people kidding me? I just got up from the table (my 14yr old licked all the plates clean, and the pots and baking dish too). But my dog, was sitting under the table licking his dick! The little mutt has developed this thing where he gets so intimidated by me if I scold him or raise my voice that he pisses himself, then he licks the pee from the floor and from the head of his pecker! I don’t let him lick me or anything that I eat or drink from!

Years ago my parents had a german shepard. My dad was in his 70s then. He often let the dog lick the bowl after he ate his ice cream in the evening. He usually would set the bowl on the floor, and then pick it up after the dog was done. I will never forget the one time (while having an in depth conversation with me)he forgot that the dog had cleaned the bowl. Later in the conversation he decided to get a second helping…

Agree completely. I know where those feet have been – in the litter box. We keep a few squirt guns around the house for training and it only takes a few shots in the face for the cats to understand that tables and counters are off limits.

And yes, I said cats. We’ve rescued 3 in the last 2 years, and I’m extremely allergic to the little devils. Allegra has been a Godsend.

    True story

My Grandmother was visiting with a friend when an uninvited neighbor showed up, a usual occurrence. After lunch the host let the cat lick the plates before placing them back in the cabinet, unwashed.

The uninvited person never crashed lunch again.

She washed them after the crasher left.

I let the dog lick the plates. Usually he is standing at the dishwasher doing a pre-rinse.
