Ryan Draws Huge Crowd at The Villages

Deep Fried Manatee

I got up at 4 a.m. this morning to drive to The Villages to see Paul Ryan.  I stood for three hours in unbelievable heat waiting for Ryan to arrive and I can tell you that it was absolutely worth it.

I have no idea how many people were there, I’ve never seen a crowd that large at any of the events I’ve attended at The Villages, and the crowd was not disappointed.

Several news sites have listed 10,000 in attendance. Sarah Palin (&Piper) drew 60,000. Just saying.

I watched Ryan’s speech live yesterday, and he hit it out of the park.
It’s true what they say…he has a real ability to extract the nuts and bolts of a complex topic and explain it in language ordinary non-geeks can understand.
And he doesn’t patronize his audience, nor did he address them as “you guys” or “y’all”. I’m sure libs would think that’s a SMALL thing, but it shows the difference between respecting them and treating them as useful idiots.

@BFH, thanks for that clip of the drunken Joey.
    It’s a classic!

@Steve – You, know, I like Sarah Palin, but I am really starting to get annoyed at the Palinistas. They are starting to sound like Obamabots on some of the comments on other blogs.

Sarah Palin is not running. Can we focus on the ticket that is running and work to get them elected rather than criticizing them at every turn?

BTW, the Daily Kos and other liberal sites are really playing up the fact that perhaps Palin drew more people than Ryan at The Villages. What does that tell you about that particular talking point?

Did they pick that location for the speech BECAUSE of that drunken Joe video? I would have…

Understand one thing nomobo, I will be voting for the least squishy RINO on the ticket. That would be Paul Ryan.

btw: we got labeled as Palinistas by duh edster and all-of-no PUN-didit at hotair. You are a little late to the party. IYKWIMAITTYD.

First, many thanks for the link!

The ten thousand figure being thrown around by liberal blogs doesn’t even come close to being reasonable. In addition to the main staging area there were jumbotrons (sp?) set up in at least three other truely packed locations. I’ve been to several events at The Villages and I’ve never seen a crowd that big.

However, the size of the crowd isn’t the point. The Obama people had hoped to make hay of Ryan by scaring seniors over Medicare. Their Plan is backfiring-big time. Seniors are enthusiastic about the Ryan Plan. They know that reform is crucial. Sucks for the Obama crowd.

@blacksmith8 – glad to hear you will be voting for the ticket. Sorry if the Palinista term offended you, but I have just come off of what seems like days of reading comments from Palin supporters doing the nyah-nyah-nyah thing over Ryan’s “lesser” crowd numbers. One even said “Palin drew 30,000 more than Ryan – too bad, so sad.” Childish, really. I just don’t see the point of the circular firing sqaud. I didn’t get my first choice in Romney, either, but I am going all in for both Romney and Ryan. IFYKWIMAITTYD.

NoMoBo — There has never been a pol more maligned, abused and undefended by his/her party than Palin. This woman works her butt off for down-ticket candidates and gives PAC money to the person her vetters deem deserving. She was the superstar of what could’ve been a blowout loss in ’08, and she isn’t offered top billing at the ’12 convention — but JEB BUSH is.

Yeah, we’re a tad sensitive when it comes to the ‘Cuda. Deal with it.

I don’t have to deal with it. If you are sensitive, then you have to deal with it. Do I think that Palin is a patriot? Yes. Do I think that she deserved to be invited to speak at the convention? Yes. Is Jeb Bush a stinking, slimy, RINO? Yes. Now, a question for Palin supporters. Is Mitt Romney going to be the nominee? Looks like the answer is yes. I think Palin should come out strongly in support of the ticket if that is the case. Obviously some of her supporters don’t think that she has. Right now, all I want is to get Obama out of the White House. To that end, I think we should stand together. Deal with it.
