JOHN LENNON’S KILLER AGAIN UP FOR PAROLE IN NY

ALDEN, N.Y. (AP) — Officials say John Lennon’s killer, who is up for parole for the seventh time, could have a parole hearing as early as Tuesday.
New York Department of Corrections spokeswoman Linda Foglia says Mark David Chapman is scheduled to be interviewed by members of the parole board this week. She says they could make a decision by Thursday or Friday.
Chapman shot Lennon in December 1980 outside the Manhattan apartment building where the former Beatle lived. He was sentenced in 1981 to 20 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder.

Killers of celebrities have a tougher time with parole than if they killed some random guy.
If MDC killed some superintendent in a building he’d be out by now.

I agree with Fur. In fact, had some gangbanger chopped down a whole family to get to one enemy the chances are he’d serve no more then 20 years. I say give him a chance and Ringo’s address.

From my understanding..As far as the inner workings of the Florida Dept. of Corrections goes.
(I have 10 years as a correctional officer).
There are very few inmates that are still eligible for parole.
I believe they are trying to do away with parole completely in Folrida.
keeping that that in mind, if they were to grant someone like this parole, not only would it endanger the public, it would also undermine those who still conduct parole hearings and would eventually put parole officals out of a nice cushy desk job. My guess is he’s staying put. that’s parole, not to be confused with probation..

Am I wrong to believe that if you intentionally take a life, you forfeit your own?

That’s why I refer to the likes of Chris Matthews and Bill O’Reilly as Mr. Parole(s). They never let anyone finish a sentence. Hee,hee. I stole that from somewhere?

BTW I believe that if one is found guilty of premeditated murder the death penalty is the way to go. Saves the State and the taxpayer a lot of money.
Abortion is murder.

He shot Lennon in premeditaded cold blood. How did he only get convicted for second degree murder?

BFH is correct. Unfortunately, scum like Chapman
Manson and Berkowitz will be housed, medicated
fed, ad nauseum courtesy of the public. I just
read (somewhere) some prisoner had received a
liver transplant. $350K, damn.

C’mon let him out. He only shot John Lennon, not anyone important.

@Claudia: yes. That was only God’s law.

Jethro, that’s what plea deals do! And 32 years is way over the average sentence for even 1st degree murder.

I say they tell him Obama has been bangin’ Jodie Foster and then they let him out to play.
What? Too Soon?

i was thinking the same thing (what BFH said) when i heard about this yesterday. just beacuse its JL – somehow the guy deserves a longer sentence than if he offed some Joe Schmo? the left is always soft on crime unless its one of theirs that gets offed.

I was raised with the Beatles as a religion, from conservative parents.mdc should be dead but at the very least he should never see freedom again.

even though I could not stand John Lennon’s beliefs or unbeliefs, but acknowledge his great talent. the SOB who planned his killing should of been shot in the stomach too and left on a sidewalk in Dekalb county outside of Avondale Highschool.
