Pompous Circumstance – The Arbitrary Discriminations of The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra

Here is a typical example of unmasked progressivity running amok. In Atlanta Georgia the symphony orchestra has decided not to allow the previous high schools choruses to perform with them because they are not “racially diverse enough” to warrant participation. Apparently that means they are demographically “too white”.
However, in the strangest, well, not really strange – more like typical, fashion the Symphony itself refuses to self-describe their own diversity. So, after reading this article, well, actually after reading the comment from the “Director of Communications“, I just had to go look at the ethnic makeup of the Symphony itself.

Every single kid in the high school choruses should attest that they are black.
And when the Symphony balks, use Harry Reid Logic: Prove that I’m not.

If I’m not mistaken, the symphony gets funding from the state of Georgia. That should come to an immediate end. Also, like most city symphonies, they get money from pledge drives and corporate donations. Those should end as well.
Then, symphony members can go do “can shakes” in the “less than eloquent” sections of Atlanta. Let’s see how they like all that “diversity” then.

Using racial epitaphs does not help our cause.
One day I’ll tell y’all about the time a black drug addict broke into our house, took my father hostage, and threatened to kill my brother. Believe me, I have reason to be prejudiced and use unsavory terms. But it doesn’t help anything and makes the speaker look like white trash.

Looking at Atlanta Symphony Orchestra\’s website, that includes photos and names of the ASO, they have 99 musicians and conductors. Out of those 99 musicians and conductors, 95 are white, 1 is Hispanic, 2 are unknown and 1 is black. http://www.atlantasymphony.org/about/conductorsandmusicians.aspx#.01%20Conductors
Atlanta’s black population averages above 60%. So realistically, 60 of those musicians should be black and 4-5 of them should be Hispanic. 1 percent of the ASO is black.
Those high schools should announce the ASO is not racially diverse for their students to associate with.
Hypocrisy at it’s worse.

As far as Alan West goes, I love that man and HOPE TO GOD he will run for president someday because he has my vote. I was a big fan of Herman Cain as well, and still am.
My point of my original post is that we shouldn’t be afraid to use the word “nigger” because it is an adjective of people in this country, black and white, that is what it is. They call us crackers,,,So is that OUR WORD? Is it okay for us whites to use it but not blacks?
Weigh my words carefully.

I don’t want to get into a pissing contest here, but that word is highly offensive to a lot of people who we’d like to convince to become Conservatives – and not just blacks. It’s hard enough just getting people to listen and using that word is a sure way to convince a lot of people that you’re not worth listening to. Sometimes you have to bite your tongue for the good of the cause.
And that’s all I have to say about that.

Of course , Edith. I can’t judge, since I’ve never been exposed to black society. Grew up and worked in a very white environment. The only black folks I’ve worked with were very gracious African men. Maybe black Americans are different. I really dunno. Canadian frog here.

As a professional singer, I have to say that musical groups are meritocracy-based…If you’re not good enough, you’re out; white, black, brown, yellow and red. Doesn’t matter-you’re out; you don’t make the cut! And, that’s the way it should be. Which makes one question our current “diversity” based selection process in corporate, local, state and national govt. institutions…Are we really getting the best candidate? Shall we apply the model that the NFL or NBA uses; the best athelete gets the job? Makes me sick!

Death By Farts – no one can say that you are niggardly in the use of the N-word.
I have been deliberately sprinkling the word “niggard” here on IOTW for several months now and I see it is catching on. That’s a good thing because the word itslef has absolutely no basis in or relation to the N-word. It’s meaning would be accurately described as “cheap rat bastard”.
Several years back, a token white ProgTard working for the NAACP was damn near fired for using the word “niggardly” in a widely distributed memo. Amazingly, the whole incident was reported (barely) in the MSM and it illustrated how people who are semi-literate at best were quick to take offense at a the literate, accurate words of a well-meaning but clueless White Guilt Liberal.
After getting a drubbing in Kangaroo Court from the Political Correctness Fascists I wonder if he became a Conservative or became even more far-left in a desperate attempt to regain his “street cred”? Sort of like billionaire thief/socialist George Soros working for the Nazis, betraying fellow Jews……

….and entrepreneur Herman Cain, Colonel Allen West and Congressional candidate Mia Love all have my utmost respect and admiration.
I said it earlier this week about Mia Love but all three deserve our love & praise (and political campaign contributions) for having the courage to think for themselves and put the Democrat Plantation as far away from themselves as possible.
I can’t imagine the hell they go through from people in the black community, furious at them for becoming Conservatives.
