Bishop EW Jackson Defends Gabby Douglas: Time for Christians to Turn Backs on Democrat Party

Maggie’s Notebook

Several things in this article touch a nerve with me. Bishop E. W Jackson says the Democrat Party has a “cult-like devotion” to abortion and tells of a Progressive “journalist” attacking Gabrielle (Gabby) Douglas, the 2012 Olymics Gold Medalist in Gymnanastics from the U.S., for giving the “glory to God” for her success.

Gabby Douglas

Gabrielle “Gabby” Douglas

Case in point: Mary Elizabeth Williams, journalist for the progressive online magazine Salon.com, wrote, “I’ve often wondered what it is about Christians like Douglas that unnerves me so … Douglas and her ilk seem to espouse a faith based on what is commonly referred to as ‘The God of Parking Spaces.’”

Mary Elizabeth Williams

Williams doesn’t believe we need God, but we do need Oprah and have been blessed to have her for 25 years. In fact, according to Williams, Oprah’s success is downright “miraculous.”

Jackson, founder and president of STAND (Staying True to America’s National Destiny), responds: “Progressives are indeed ‘unnerved’ by devout Christians. That’s why they resort to ridicule, even of a 16-year-old Olympic medal winner. Williams says we worship ‘The God of Parking Spaces,’ but I would prefer Gabby’s God of grace and kindness to the leftist’s god of ridicule and persecution. Source

Jackson is the head pastor of the non-denominational Exodus Faith Ministry in Chesapeake, Virginia. He is a former Marine, attended the University of Massachusetts and graduated Summa Cum Laude in three years. He was awarded the Phi beta Kappa Key. He practiced law for 15 years in Boston and started the city’s first and only all-gospel radio station.

Bishop Jackson has all the creds. But is he black enough?

Comes from Romneytown, too. But it’s better to say “Desert the RATS” than “Join the GOPers.”

Let’s hope the “Flying Squirrel” continues to speak up for Christ and gives the appearance of nonalignment politically.

And stays AWAY from THE OBAMAS, Leno et al. (I see a cartoon there . . .).

God honors those who honor him. So be it with Gabby Douglas. Those who dishonor God don’t like it because it’s not fair. Ms. Williams and her ilk doesn’t get it because she thinks she doesn’t need God. I’m sorry dearie, we all need God. Without him I’d still be a basket case.

Why spend 1 moment attacking an Olympic champion who is 16-years old? The media, the first lady of the United States, who else? What’s it to them?

Bishop Jackson was a US Senate candidate, too, but lost the primary to George Allen.

That would have been a tough choice, I think.

“….Williams says we worship ‘The God of Parking Spaces,’ but I would prefer Gabby’s God of grace and kindness to the leftist’s god of ridicule and persecution….”

That in a nutshell, says it all.

The “God of parking spaces” is a condescending stereotype that Godless liberals like to use to portray people of faith as simpletons who believe that God controls every action and aspect of their life – such as making that parking space that is closest to the entrance available.

They don’t understand grace. They don’t understand free will as the gift from God. They just don’t understand God’s true purpose in our life and what he wants for us.

To truly know God, they would have to give up their selfish being, and they aren’t willing to do that. So ridicule is their best defense against truth.

Irish Gold Medalist Katie Taylor (boxing) thanked the Lord for her victory on Irish TV.
Partick Roberts of Irish Central chastized her for bringing God into the matter.
God had nothing to do with it chirped Roberts, and he is sick and tired of atheletes thanking God.
And that’s the way it is, this day and age.
I am convinced that progs get up in the morning and tell God their plans for the day.

Humility is not a hallmark of Leftists and I think this is part of why they cannot imagine bending a revering knee to “the god of parking spaces.” No matter. All we can do is pray that God makes his presence known to the Salon writer in a way that doesn’t require the complete destruction of her personal world. Paul was struck blind.

I’ve been worried about groups, especially the NCC, for some time and talked with our church minister about this. It’s even trickier, sometimes to bring up politics in the church than to talk religion within politics. Fortunately our family of churches is all about Biblical teaching, not piggy-backing off Jesus Christ in the name of “social justice.” If that happened I would run, not walk, away from a pseudo religion. The story of Bonhoeffer’s German church was especially illuminating in this regard. It’s no wonder the Left always hopes to excise authentic belief from the life of the state.

If someone from admis can delete it, thanks!

G-d bless Bishop Jackson. Commies are terrified of faith in anything other than government and their own selfish tangible existence.

My car is always parked at least 30 spaces away from any public store entrance. Because the stupid progressives can’t seem to limit their activity to their own space, and they’re hung up on their RIGHT to a close parking spot. It’s also their RIGHT to swing doors into my property. My parking space is for MY shit, now get out!

Actually there is something to this GOD of parking spaces thing. I am disabled but drive and shop a bit and its uncanny to all who know me that almost always I get a parking place right by the front door. If there isn’t one, about 2% of the time, I reconsider whether I am supposed to go in there or not. The LORD is my shepherd.

@pbird, very interesting. Yes, the Lord IS your shepherd!

Your story reminded me of my grandmother, who drove her own car into her ’90s. She also had uncanny “luck” at finding parking spaces. I can remember going places with her and in a ridiculously crowded parking lot, she would confidently cruise right up towards the entryway. When anybody suggested that there wouldn’t be any empty spaces, she ignored them.
And SURE enough…miraculously, there would always be one open spot, apparently waiting for her.
To this day, when I am lucky enough to find a space in a seemingly impossible situation, I think , “Thanks, Grandma.”

Bishop Jackson rocks! I voted for him in our state primary. He spoke to a predominantly white, conservative-libertarian/TEA Party groups in Virginia and got standing O’s at more of them than not. In the Virginia Senatorial debates with four other challengers, Bishop Jackson was the ONLY one who brought the crowd to its feet. He was the ultimate candidate.

George Allen was the Establishment candidate with establishment backing, money and name recognition.

    Guess who won.
