WTF?–CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITIES NO LONGER ACCEPTING CALIFORNIA STUDENTS

The Conservatory

Welcome To The Golden State—Of Absurdity.

The Cal State University system has now announced that most campuses won’t be accepting any new students for the spring. And only non-California or international students for graduate programs. Because money.

Cal State leaders have told the university’s 23 campuses they will not be allowed to admit California graduate students for the spring term, which starts in January. Budget cuts made the system in the coming spring term unable to afford residents’ heavily discounted education, campus leaders were told.

But nonresident students — who pay considerably higher fees — remain welcome, at least at some campuses, and that has become an issue leading some rebellious graduate schools to turn away the non-Californians — and the financial windfall they would bring in.

So a state university system has decided to exclude the very students it was created to support. What exactly are California taxpayers getting for their taxes that go to the CSU system then?

Might as well trigger the “Big One” and let Kalifornia slide off into the sea…

    @Groucho-
Good question! The illegals weren’t mentioned, were they? Seems like it would apply to them as well.

That rumbling you hear is the imminent collapse of one sixth of the US economy.

    Tell Barrack: Communism did that.

OK, physicist commenters, how many megatons would it take to separate west Cali from east Cali along the San Andreas fault?

(Turning L.A. back into a desert would be easy.)

It’s this sort of thing that got us to this point.
I doubt that more of the same will fix it.

Illegal immigrants have always gotten the in-state tuition discount. Although I’m sure they’ll immediately be reclassified as nonresident students. Except they’ll still get the tuition discount, or there won’t be enough diversity and it would be discrimination.

It’s what the Founding Fathers would have wanted.

hey I got an idea, why doesn’t the University system apportion million$$ more to their sports programs?!

    hey?

yeah, pay million$$ to people to teach students how to throw a ball around and stuff–

important stuff like that. Because it makes perfect sense to pay people, including the Sanduskies and so on.

and let’s don’t forget the necessary funding for lobbying–what’s a school system if not a political sounding board, a lobbying group for the left?

certainly not NEA–NEA is a lobbying group. Education is simply vehicular in that.

matter of fact, the educational stuff is a distraction.

Why not just abandon the academics for the most part, and run this rocket-sled at full open bore to the left all dressed in a nonsense sports jabber.

Marx had it wrong: Religion Sports is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people”.

but to be fair, sports are largely a religious expression, eg; “I go to the church of Monday night football”–followed by a tongue in cheek grin, to reveal the absurdity of the notion–but it is a paradox of irony, ie–it is a religious expression for them

the Olympics are a global example of what I’m trying to point out. Sandusky & co. aren’t anti-thetical, they are the fruition of it

let’s face it–we accept the ideas of people who devout their entire lives to being noticed and elevated in the public eye–hollywood people, sports people, and self-appointed sophists of every stripe and cause.

wealthy people with a vacuums for minds. If Bill Maher, Rosie O’Donnel [sp?] Harpo or any of them actually had anything to say–we’d have heard it by now.

Hillary was quoted in recent years as bemoaning the intellectual traction lacking in the left movement. Their intelligence is largely supplied by the puppeteering of the beautiful people noted above.

but the would be hard intelligence is supplied by imbeciles like Zinn and Chomsky and the mechanical octopus of Soros in the world.

the left actually has no intellectual underpinning. It is a religious expression of selfism, so to speak. The paradox of that incontrovertible fact is that it is dressed rhetorically in the herd mentality of statism/communism.

Just spoke with a neighbor who returned from visiting relatives in CA came back shocked to report how the Californicommies practically frothed at the mouth at the mention of Mitt Romney and went ballistic over the mention of Palin.

Like Rush said: You can’t reason with these people; they’re too far gone. The only option is defeat at the ballot box.
