Glimpse inside the Romney/Ryan rally in Waukesha
I attended the Paul Ryan/Mitt Romney rally in Waukesha, WI, this past Sunday evening, where the crowd of nearly 10,000 mirrored other huge turnouts around the country.
There was a group of about 15 protesters, organized by SEIU, Obama for America, and MoveOn.org, lining the entrance to the rally, captured best in this video. What struck me most was the contrast between those outside (another video) and the atmosphere inside.
At least these Wisconsinites were overjoyed at the hometown pick. It almost felt as though Ryan was the one at the top of the ticket, and Romney was his VP. For a taste of how it felt, I put together some of my clips:

I love the koolaidian at the end. “We don’t want a Romney economy.” Yeah, because all it would have to do is to be 10% better than Obama and it would be a rousing success. And then everyone would see the complete failure of marxism, leninism, socialism first hand.

That was a very nice video. I’m sure Ryan is still not quite believing he’s gonna be Veep of the U.S. of A. and watching him be a wee overwhelmed by the crowd and shaking his head made me tear up. Cast off your doubts, chat up some strangers — what’s left to lose is our country and that wonderful feeling of being an American. I want people in the WH who are going to take care of my country so I don’t have to be glued to CSPAN and stockpiling food and ammo for the next four years.

xthread: Mr. L. could be a little less verbose. I’m into it at the 5 min. mark and I still don’t know what his point is or who the “we” are he’s so adamant I listen to. I get that he’s RINO-averse (aren’t we all?) I’ll check out Kevin Madden, though. Thanks.

@xthread – I made it through most of the rant then had to stop. I mean really, what’s the point? I get it that Romney is not your choice. He wasn’t my first choice either. But he’s what we have. When he chose Ryan it finally gave me something to be excited about. Also, he is kicking up the rhetoric lately. What purpose does it serve to constantly be wringing our hands and moaning. If we don’t win this election, we probably won’t have another chance. So I’m all in for Romney, yard signs, donations and all. I refuse to listen to disheartening rants anymore. I can’t emotionally afford it.
