Strike Two for Bill Burton?
Bill Burton, former White House deputy press secretary and head of the pro-Obama Priorities USA super PAC, is struggling to defend his latest ad that suggests Mitt Romney is responsible for the death of a steelworker’s wife. You can hardly blame Burton; fact-checkers have found that the ad is dishonest, blatantly misleading, and sleazy, so it’s no wonder he can’t defend it. But why would he run something that is indefensible in the first place? CNN’s Wolf Blitzer pushed Burton on the issue last night
Burton could not have come off looking worse. This has to be a headache for President Obama, who isn’t officially tied to the super PAC but has publicly endorsed the super PAC. Campaign and White House officials have also attended fundraising events for Priorities USA, which means the campaign is going to have a hard time arguing that it has no association with the super PAC.

By the way, I heard that David Brock was one of Harry Reid’s conquests back when David was a teenager.

It’s probably true. I believe Mitt Romney is responsible for the melting of the polar ice cap as well as this year’s national drought. He might also take responsibility for the recent unusual and dramatic solar flare activity on the sun. Too much infusion of radioactive material entering the atmosphere from the Van Allen radiation belt is also something he should be explaining to the public. If he’s elected, we are sure to see total economic collapse, tidal waves striking both the East and West Coasts, and the onslaught of WWIII. Keep your fingers crossed. And pray for our country.

This whole thing, is a brilliant move by the administration.
It hasn’t played as a paid ad yet. So, why bother paying? The media gave you all the coverage you need, on the house.
Seeds were planted, Opinions formed. Damage done.
Pay to play it in selected markets, after people start paying attention. Reinforce the accusation after it has been debunked. Reminding people of the emotional, is easier than dissuading them, via fact.

Bill Burton is about 30-35 younger than I am. But I sure would like to have my 15 minutes of FAME with him . Only him. He would never look or act the same again. Actually all I need is 5 minutes. There are not enough filthy words around to describe this person.

His point in the video was clear. Everyone’s talking about whether or not Mitt is responsible for this woman’s death. They control the discussion. They win on those grounds.
Politics is not about facts or truth, it’s who can have the most mud stick to the other guy. And barry’s good at slingin the ol’ mud, if you know what I mean….
