The whole video is a cautionary tale with more layers than a Vidalia onion.

ruins his shoes
- a common symbol of status among poor inner-city youth

and risks killing himself
- which demonstrates this kid’s desperation and/or pinky hold on reality

while producing a video
- using a remix of the song “Lose Yourself” as the soundtrack
- – performed by Eminem, a resident of Detroit
- – - a city ruined by the very same sort of policies and politics that ruined the city this Ukrainian lives in

which he hopes to sell to New Balance
- a company which undoubtedly neither knows nor cares a whit about this kid, considering that more talent can be found in any random 5 seconds of “American Ninja Warrior” than this entire video

and hopefully earn enough money to have a life much better than the one he has now.

Desperate times are giant petri dishes for this sort of thing. And Marxism is a gargantuan petri dish for desperate times.
