Cardinal George Questions the Chicago Left Machine When They Claim That They Set Chicago Values

The smug Chicago duo, Emanuel and Moreno, with one statement, supplanted religion as the moral compass, seizing it for the Godless state.

Chicago Tribune -

Chicago Cardinal Francis George has stepped in the ring on Chick-fil-A’s gay marriage controversy in a blog post, criticizing Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s statement that the fast food chain’s values “are not Chicago values.”

“Recent comments by those who administer our city seem to assume that the city government can decide for everyone what are the ‘values’ that must be held by citizens of Chicago,” George wrote on the Archdiocese of Chicago’s blog Sunday. “I was born and raised here, and my understanding of being a Chicagoan never included submitting my value system to the government for approval. Must those whose personal values do not conform to those of the government of the day move from the city?”

Moreno, who touched off the debate last week, fired back at George.

“It’s unfortunate that the cardinal, as often happens, picks parts of the Bible and not other parts,” said Moreno, who added that he was raised Catholic in western Illinois, attended a Catholic grade school and was an altar boy. Moreno said he now occasionally attends church.

“The Bible says many things,” Moreno said. “For the cardinal to say that Jesus believes in this, and therefore we all must believe in this, I think is just ingenuous and irresponsible. The God I believe in is one about equal rights, and to not give equal rights to those that want to marry, is in my opinion un-Christian.”

Moreno, redefining the Christianity, like a Pope.

Marriage has never been about “equal rights”: but about a couple.
Marriage is a sacrament between a man and a woman, a woman and a man, — with the LORD as a witness — to take care of each others until death.

    It’s the incipient family.

Marriage shouldn’t be profaned by the State. It belongs to the synagogue, or the church.

Give homosexual civil unions, no problem. But don’t desacrate the holy institution of marriage.

    It’s the basis of civilization!!

A government official wants to debate religion with a CARDINAL?? Somebody would be wise to retreat behind that wall of separation, if you know what I mean.

Moreno was an altar boy. Plenty of fodder in this one for the late-night comics.

The god Moreno, and Rahm Emanuel worship is named Satan, and his chief strong man, Obama, occupies the oval office.

Someone tell Moreno that in Chicago, the unborn do not have an equal right to life, and citizens do not have an equal right to armed defense of their person and property, despite Constitutional guarantees to these things.

To paraphrase Moreno “It’s unfortunate that (aL eftist douchebag), as often happens, picks parts of the (Constitution) and not other parts. The (Constitution guarantees) says many things. For (Leftist douchebags) to say that (the government) believes in (these Constitutional rights), and therefore we all must believe in (these Constitutional rights), I think is just ingenuous and irresponsible. The God I believe in is one about equal rights, and to not give equal rights to those that want to marry, is in my opinion un-Christian. (And so, all persons who want to marry their parents, siblings, kids and pets, please move to Chicago.)”

The looney gays don’t want “equal rights”. They want you, if you are a Christian, to say what they do is ok, and you actually approve of homosexuality. If you are REALLY a Christian, you cannot do that. GODS commands are Christs commands, one in the same. Jesus say’s so.
If you debate the homos, and tell them that you would accept “civil union”, which is NOT the same as Holy Matrimony, or “marriage”, they will not accept this. Even if you grant them all the same things under the law that they claimed they wanted in the beginning of the argument, they say “it’s not equal unless you call it marriage”.
Well, it’s NOT marriage. It’s something else. What they are REALLY asking for is for you to disavow GOD and Christ. It is an attack on Christianity and your religious beliefs. Nothing less.

“Moreno noted the church scandal surrounding pedophilia among priests, questioning George’s right to the “moral high ground on equal rights.”

No, it was not a ‘pedophilia’ scandal, it was homosexual rape by queer priests who were interviewed for seminary by lesbian nuns and encouraged by queer bishops. The former Cardinal of Chicago Bernadin who greatly influenced Alderman Moreno requested that he have the “Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus” sing at his funeral. There would have been no scandal without homosexuals.

So Moreno states God is about equal rights. Then he ought to cite chapter and verse from the Bible. I want to read those sections (in the context which they are found) for myself, to see if I would come to the same conclusions. Then I’d like to read what other Bible commentators have to say.
If promoting and encouraging homosexual behavior is a part of “Chicago values”, then it is a place that I want to stay far away from. Sodom comes to mind

God has a “Chosen Nation” – Israel.

God sent his Son (Jesus) to die for all, but only those who accept him will be granted Salvation.

God obliterated 2 whole cities due to their sexual perversion, which was highlighted as homosexuality.

    Not exactly “equal rights”.

Mr. Moreno, you know nothing about God or the Bible. You happen to know a lot about godlessness and bile though……….
