Chick Fil A Appreciation Day Looking Like A Huge Success

Nice Deb

By all accounts, Mike Huckabee’s “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day is  looking like a huge success for the company.

Business Insider has a round up of reports coming in from around the country, thus far:

Knoxville News Sentinel editor/reporter Jesse Smithey tweeted this picture of a long line of cars at a Tennessee Chick-fil-A:

Across the country, Twitter users described “mile long traffic to get into chick-fil-a,” stores “so crowded there are cops directing traffic off the highway” and “26 cars in the drive through.” One user, EWErickson, wrote that the “crowd was so big I gave up.”

Earlier, several North Carolina Wendy’s restaurants posted signs saying “We Stand With Chick Fil A.” The fast-food chain, a rival of Chick-fil-A, tweeted atMSNBC’s Thomas Roberts today that the signs were put up by an independent franchisee and have since been taken down. “We proudly serve ALL customers,” Wendy’s tweeted.]

Erick Erickson, editor of the conservative blog Red State, tweeted this picture and estimated the line was “a quarter mile long”:

The Odessa American reported that the Odessa, Texas, Chick-fil-A doubled its profits this morning alone. More than 600,000 people had joined Huckabee’s Facebook group and pledged to go to a Chick-fil-A today.

Also looking at the pics and comments re: this at Gateway Pundit, made me feel a lot better about the state of our union. Better than ANY presidential speech.

Gives me hope that obama and his thugs will be gone soon. Cause you know that all these thousands of people across the nation giving of their time and money to stand in line for hours for a damn chicken sandwich or a lemonade are going to be voting Republican.

Don’t give Hucklberry too much credit.

I didn’y know he called for this till I started reading today’s blogs. Neither did those enthused about the event.

I think the word got out through other means

“Wendys serves all customers” What a bunch of malarkey, Chik-Fil-A serves all customers too. It wasn’t about gay marriage. It was about freedom of speech and religion and a protest against government coercion. It was the Nazis who didn’t allow Jews ro own businesses. The government telling people they must toe the line of liberal political orthodoxy or face the consequences just rubs people the wrong way

The one in Fairfield, CA, closed at 5 p.m. because they ran out of food–five hours early! They had a sign on their door, thanking all their “raving Chick-fil-A fans” and apologizing for having to close.

The only bad part was that I didn’t get there until 8:30 pm—so no Chick-fil-A for me. THIS time!

So what have we learned from this episode?

Probably that with regard to the LGBT crowd, most of America is somewhere between uncomfortable with gays to downright hostile to the LBGT movement of trying to convince people that gays should become accepted as mainstream. That’s right, gay activists, despite your efforts to force people to be politically correct, most Americans have not, and probably will never accept your lifestyle, and all of your whining and bitching will do nothing to change this attitude.

    Live with it.

    @chalupa–

    You are a lucky duck.

I went to Fairfield to hear Peter Friedman’s presentation on “Islam–Threat to America” again. He included information on Huma Abedin this time, and our government’s “quiet” purchase of gazillions rounds of ammunition.

I really could have used Chick-fil-A after that.

My hope is that people will be there again the day of the idiotic “Kiss-In” to crowd out the kissers, whose pathetic demand for approval/validation from the straight majority will be their downfall.

@Wyatt – I think it has a lot more to do with the fact that we resent one group trying to restrict another group in what they should or should not believe or think.

I just got back from waiting 2 1/2 hours in line at a certain southern California Chick-fil-A. There were rainbow protesters nearby. About 10. But there were literally thousands of people going to Chick-fil-A. We made some new friends in line because the camaraderie was awesome. It was amazing, and the food was great, too!

    NR: “the camaraderie was awesome”

There’s no CFA near me so I’ve been living the experience vicariously. Two things stood out in the literally hundreds of messages I’ve read in various forums:

First, the point you make about the spirit among the supporters. Almost every post said that the subject of SSM was hardly talked about. The conversations were about the repression of government on our freedoms.

This has enormous repercussions. The MSM has worked vigorously to keep Americans separated and uninformed about what is actually taking place in their country. These thousands of people networking, face to face, sharing information and opinions is the very foundation of a ‘free press’ and may very well be the first time that these people have been able to do so.

Smattering of subdued protesters. This turned out to be another masterstroke in shooting yourself in the foot. It’s turning out to be almost an Olympic sport.

Second, it is heartwarming to see how these supporters conducted themselves. Reminds me of the Glen Beck event last summer. Here they all were, many standing for an hour or two in triple digit temperatures, calm, orderly, cheerful, neat.

    All is not lost.

    Salt Lake City:

At Murray City Park, Calvary Chapel held an outdoor worship service, which normally brings between 500 and 600 people. On the menu: Chick-fil-A. And the crowds showed up.

“We had catered 1,000 sandwiches from Chick-fil-A, and it looks like we’re going to go through all those,” said Assistant Pastor Jim Harris.

The Chick-fil-A in Georgetown, Kentucky where we are currently staying, was packed right up until closing time. I saw food deliveries being made at 0600 hrs this morning! It was my first time at a CFA and won’t be my last!

The nearest Chick-Fil-A is about 45 minutes from me and I would have gone there had I not had take care of my sick daughter yesterday (walking pneumonia). But looking at the photographs and hearing the stories from Chick-Fil-A stores across the country, I am really all choked up.

You know the Obummer peeps are really shatting their pants right now. Their pitiful attempts at class/gender/etc warfare are backfiring on all fronts. I’m glad they made an issue of the Chick Fil-A family values and tried to propagandize it as hateful. November can’t come soon enough to get these bozos out of office.

    @sandybanks:

“the subject of SSM was hardly talked about. The conversations were about the repression of government on our freedoms.”

EXACTLY. It was like a huge Tea Party, with mostly the faith segment present, and minus the Ron Paul/Infowars weirdos.

The number of people waiting in line at this CFA was larger than what I’ve seen in any of the pictures online, but maybe that’s because it was dinnertime and by then the media was gone. It was astounding. We were tempted to give up at first, but I didn’t want to miss out on being part of such a meaningful event. It was worth it.
