A Poem on Taxes
Someone forwarded me this poem… not sure who the original author is…
Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table,
At which he’s fed.
Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes
Are the rule.
Tax his work,
Tax his pay,
He works for
peanuts anyway!
Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.
Tax his ties,
Tax his shirt,
Tax his work,
Tax his dirt.
Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.
Tax his cigars,
Tax his beers,
If he cries
Tax his tears.

Must be an old poem. They forgot to add, “Tax him if he tries to live.” (obamacare)

A new one
When I have a heart attack from all my taxes, I will call an ambulance that I paid for through a municipal services tax they deducted from my pay check, but they will bill my insurance company for that service anyway. They will make my local not-for-profit hospital pay a $100 per bed tax. They will tax my artifical heart to replace the one they broke in the first place.

How about an AIDS tax to pay for the medical care of those whose life style was reckless.
How about a movie tax, to pay for all the recklessbehavior they induce.
Pleasde feel free to add your favorite “Progressive” tax

This poem undoubtedly hangs on the walls of congress. There it’s called, “The Tax Commandments”.

I love it!
Conservative poetry, that makes sense, and drives it’s point home to the reader.

I read that a long time ago and forgotten about it. Thanks for finding it and posting it for all newbies to the tax roles to see.

Where government spending should be curbed you’ll find a tax.

George Harrison had a handle on it too:
If you take a walk, I’ll tax your feet …
Don’t ask me what I want it for … if you don’t want to pay some more . . .
