JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — A lawsuit claims a Mississippi casino served so much alcohol to a man taking powerful prescription painkillers that he died on the floor of his hotel bathroom.

The lawsuit against IP Casino Resort and Spa in Biloxi was filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Gulfport. It seeks damages of $75 million.

The suit claims casino workers kept serving free drinks to 30-year-old Bryan Lee Glenn in August 2009, ignoring pleas from the drunken man’s family to stop serving him.

The suit says Glenn died in his hotel room. He’d taken prescribed painkillers including Percocet, morphine and Xanax, as well as antipsychotic medications in the three weeks before his death, the lawsuit says.

ignoring pleas from the drunken man’s family to stop serving him.??

If his own family can’t control his actions why should the casino be responsible…Oh, that’s right, the casino has lots of money.

“Percocet, morphine and Xanax, as well as antipsychotic medications”

Sounds like he committed suicide. How much was he paying the casino to babysit him?

Let me guess: the Casino is owned by a Conservative, the effin lawyers are obammie the commie supporters, and the dead guy is not responsible for any of his actions.

Sue Big Pharma that got into bed with Obamacare. Alcohol was the least of this dude’s worries.

Tea Party’s next conquest after the election? Tort reform!

I’m guessing the Casino itself was probably a Tea Party member – Oh! Sorry, that was another Spa and Resort!

As long as nobody takes responsibility for their actions, and not made to pay expenses for frivolous lawsuits they’ll keep on coming!

There has never been a shortage of attorneys. Maybe we should create one?

Tony R — I doubt there will ever be a shortage of them, but if you ever go to Instapundit, he’s been documenting all the lawsuits against universities who give fraudulent projections/stats for those completing their legal programs (who, if they’re lucky, find jobs at Starbucks). Irony’s a beeyotch, ain’t it?

The article is hilarious. The guys family watched him pick up and pay for a hooker, who took money out of his pocket and the guys mother argued with the hooker to put it back. That was ok, that he was high as a kite and drunk picking up hookers and blowing $1000 a hand of their settlement money that was to be a down payment on a new place to live on blackjack, but the casino gave him FREE DRINKS! That was the bridge too far? The fact they knew his medical history, prescriptions, AND the only intervention they tried was asking the casino to turn a patron away is asinine. They could have at any time grabbed him and dragged him out, or told a security guard the guy was belligerent (which incidentally, he was tossed later by security so the casino DID act). No, these are parasites and should get exactly nothing but a free sterilization and a bill for wasting oxygen.

HE PUTS HIMSELF THROUGH THIS & THEY WANT $75M?

Glenn’s mind was made up WAY before he showed up to play black jack, drink heavily, pursue an opportunistic hooker, and only gave a flying f__k for doin his own thing. RIP GLENN!

As nature abhors a vacuum, libtards are always able to find someone to blame.
    And it’s NEVER the “victim”.

Unless and until the US gets some meaningful tort reform the legal ground will be cluttered by these and other get rich quick schemes. Part of the reason medical costs are high is to cover huge malpractice insurance premiums another reason is defensive prescribing by doctors because of lawsuits. This fellow was quite obviously not in control of himself but it’s not the casino’s job to stop him. Hell, if they had the ACLU would be suing them for infringing on his rights to be an ass.
