Pamela Geller and Team Ensnares Islam – Wait, Is Islam a Tax or a Penalty?

What began as a clear first amendment issue has exploded into a landmark case regarding the the status of Islam as a political entity. Today the Detroit Transit Authority (SMART), a government entity, argued before the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals that our “Leaving Islam” ad was political because Islam is political. At least two of the three judges seemed to go along.
If the Court rules against us, it will be ruling that Islam is political and that Sharia is a political program — something that other government agencies have strenuously denied. If that happens, will Islam and Sharia deserve the protection of a religion?

And this is actually very delicious from a tax standpoint. If the gov’t finds islam is political and not religious, then they owe bank on back taxes and penalties with interest.

And who is going to martyr its employees and buildings in trying to collect? Unlike your average tax protester, Islam is more than willing to take the *actual* fight to the IRS. Federal agents have better things to do than get exploded.

@Roscoe — The gov’t tends to take a dim view of killing people like federal prosecutors, judges, and agents. Go ahead and let islam declare jihad against the feds because they owe back taxes. Then maybe BATFE, FBI, IRS, Secret Service, and the Federal Marshalls will do a branch-dividian-waco on the muzloids. Put the feds to work doing what they should have been doing to islam all along.
