The words of Bob Ross, autotuned into an affirmation.

Think like water. We don’t make mistakes. Find freedom on this canvas.

Mr. Hat — My mom is an artist and as teenagers we grew up watching Bob Ross. She still watches him on all the tapes she recorded. Thanks for sharing this montage. It’s given me some courage to ask the following:

Most of my adult life I’ve wanted to write a book and over the years I’ve had so many ideas for one. For the past year and a half I have been questioning my ability to write a first person account of my experiences as a genetic Democrat who didn’t know why they voted D and then went through a series of epiphanies that changed me into a near-Libertarian. I know this is story that could be told by a lot of people, especially today. What I would hope to achieve by writing about it is to sort of tell “everyman’s” (or woman’s) story. What I think would make it especially interesting is the art — I have pictures of me and my family with Bill Clinton from May, ’08. I was one of four people responsible for a stop he made in Oregon, stumping for his wife. I think it would be somewhat more compelling to have proof of my delusional roots.

Do you think such an account would be interesting? Do you think there’s a market for a story told by a average American about her views of the changes in gov’t, her own path to political enlightenment?

    Someone please answer this:

How is it that Hollywood hasn’t made a movie about this guy with Will Ferrell as the star?

When I worked at Monkey Wards back in the day as an Auto Tech, we used to watch his show at lunch time. It was very calming and the dude was an amazing painter…

That guy always amazed me, with how his pictures went from nothing but a hazy background, to defined details with all of the right shapes, shadows and colors.

Even though his reruns were on for a long time I was so sad when I heard he’d passed away. He had such a positive outlook and his painting was magic.
The video is a very nice tribute to a wonderful person.

Are his paintings worth anything today?

Or do art connosewers not like his work since there is no menstrual blood, or placentas, or other body fluids or homo-erotic themes or anti-Christian or viewer insulting or … ah you get my drift.

That was nice. “Happy little cloud”, “Happy little tree”… expressions my friends and I used back in my college days, because we all watchted his show and got such a kick out of it. He was an inspirational guy and is missed.

Nice. I miss Bob. Hard to believe PBS would be involved in anything so decent.
