ABC News’ reporting on the Aurora shooting is even worse than we thought
Here’s the beginning of a July 20 ABC News story on the shooting credited to Matthew Mosk, Brian Ross, Pierre Thomas, Richard Esposito, and Megan Chuchmach, after the editor’s note apologizing for Ross falsely implicating a member of the Colorado Tea Party:
A California woman who identified herself as the mother of James Holmes, the 24-year-old man federal authorities said is the suspect in a mass shooting in an Aurora, Colorado movie theater, told ABC News her son was likely the alleged culprit, saying, “You have the right person.”
The woman, contacted at her home in San Diego, spoke briefly with ABC News and immediately expressed concern her son may be involved in the shooting death of at least 12 people overnight.
“You have the right person,” she said, apparently speaking on gut instinct. “I need to call the police… I need to fly out to Colorado.”
Just one problem: more

Actually, just about all reporting on this tragedy has been tragic!
Greta last night swore up and down that the range owner barred Holmes from shooting at his range. I read earlier that he just wanted to vet the guy before allowing him on the range… Apparently an online application doesn’t grant anyone immediate access to the facility!
Then just now on Fox I read the following:
At some point, the gunman transitioned to his other weapons, a .40 Glock pistol and a .223 Smith & Wesson M&P semi-automatic.
Why DEMONIZE the M&P when the Glock is ALSO semi-automatic???
I guess we’ll have a new round of assault weapon bans soon… Wouldn’t want any scary black plastic stocks or anything that looks functional to make folks think otherwise!

@old_oaks Because you’re more dead when you’re killed with an “assault weapon” than with a similarly semi-automatic handgun.

Poll the ABC News organization to see how many know what makes a weapon a semi-automatic.

So if someone calls you saying they are from ABC News and they would like to ask you some questions, hang up and put the news on.

This was just another ‘brian ross’ story; that is, a story that ABC can make up on the fly. Doesn’t every mother, when woken in the early morning by a strange phone call, agree with the stranger on the other end that “Yes, my son certainly could have murdered 12 people last night”? “You have the right person.”

The leftist propagandists posing as news reporters at ABC and the other crap outlets are the lowest of the low. I wouldn’t piss on one if he was on fire.
