D. James Kennedy: The antidote to the rest of the Kennedy clan! Too bad for us he is ‘absent from the body and present with the Lord’. Fortunately, he left a lasting legacy through his powerful, insightful teachings. I look forward to meeting him in Heaven!

What we face today is the same evil that has permeated this earth from the beginning.
These are the sermons that must be preached in the Church today as they were spoken in the past.
No Longer should the emphasis of the Church be bigger buildings, bank accounts and congregations.
Emphasis must be on the Word of God.
If members of the congregation are wanting political correct, comfortable dialogue, fancy church programs, feel good drivel, financial blessing and reward, they know not the life teachings of Christ.
Where are the Christ Centered Church Leaders who will speak truth to battle darkness? Now is the time, if ever, to take a stand to teach, preach and lead an increasingly lost nation.
If we stand upon Godly Principles we can yet save this Nation Under God.
As T. Austin Sparks once said, “If Jesus preached the sermons of today’s pastors, He would never have been crucified.”

I also miss Dr. Kennedy, and cato: that comment was so, so good! Thanks, Fur.

I second Elwin and Cato. It’s time to acknowledge the indisoluable bond between the principles of government with the priciples of Christianity. And this acknowledgement MUST start from the pulpit and rise to your state capitols and to Washington D.C.
My church had a guest preacher on Sunday July 1st, and he gave patriotic sermon (in honor of Independence day) on liberty and the role of God and Christ in the founding of this nation – much like Dr. Kennedy’s. And afterword, I thanked him and said “we need to hear this sermon more than just once a year.”
I am sick and tired of atheists and secularists apologizing for the faith that this country was founded upon, and I truly pray that there will be an awakening in this country of the need to know God and to know his word and to live our lives accordingly.

Coral Ridge Presbyterian is thirty miles south of me. I was just getting up my nerve to actually do a pilgrimage down there when Dr, Kennedy passed away. Now all we have are remembrances and VHS tapes. Shuler was good, too. Inspirational. Pity the kid messed it al up. But it’s another JJJ or Stallone story of kid trying to fill daddy’s shoes.

Now I make do with the teachings of Johnny Paycheck (of all people) and his “Outlaw’s Prayer,” as off balance as it is.

Boobie, I don’t see you as a hot head, but if it makes you feel any better, Fur called me “ignorant” once…and he was right. At least he used a big word for you.
(yeah, I had to look up “irascible”)
