Nike taking Paterno’s name off child care center
BEAVERTON, Ore. (AP) — The president of Nike Inc. said Thursday he has decided to change the name of the Joe Paterno Child Development Center, a child care facility at the company’s headquarters outside Portland.
Chief executive Mark Parker said he was deeply saddened by the news coming of the Louis Freeh investigation on the child sex abuse scandal at Penn State. Freeh says Paterno and other top school officials disregarded the welfare of Jerry Sandusky’s victims as they failed to report abuse allegations against the longtime assistant coach.
“It is a terrible tragedy that children were unprotected from such abhorrent crimes,” Parker said.
Nike founder Phil Knight, who defended Paterno at the coach’s memorial service, said “it appears Joe made missteps that led to heartbreaking consequences. I missed that Joe missed it, and I am extremely saddened on this day.”

Child sex abuse? The only thing this guy got right was that these were ‘abhorrent’ crimes. Let’s call a spade a spade. Sandusky was a homosexual serial rapist. Repeat after me, H-o-m-o-s-e-x-u-a-l.
Could we please stop defining anal sex by a man on boys as ‘child sexual abuse’? Unless Sandusky raped females also, why confuse the issue with the word ‘child’. It is ‘homosexual rape’. A homosexual serial rapist is not going to prey on 30 year old men for 14 years and not get kicked in the nuts a time or two or have to explain to his wife or to the coach why he has a fat lip, again. A homosexual serial rapist will almost by definition, prey on emotionally and physically weaker boys where he can buy them a Penn St jersey, take them to a few games, gain their trust and rape them. Never in the Catholic priest ‘child sexual abuse’ scandal was the word ‘homosexual’ ever used by the liberal effeminate media (nor by Catholic media). Pedophilia was the pc word of choice, obscuring the fact that these were, by and large, homosexual priests raping altar boys. ‘Pederasty’ would certainly better define what happened in both cases but why use a euphemism to describe evil?
