The Left Applauds an Unprincipled Ass Judge Because He’s Become Less Conservative Because of the “Goofy” GOP

Judge Richard Posner of the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago.

Richard Posner – Larry David’s sluggish brother

This makes little sense.

NPR (No Link, I pay these morons already) -

Judge Richard Posner, a conservative on the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago, has long been one of the nation’s most respected and admired legal thinkers on the right.

Never heard of him.

But in an interview with NPR, he expressed exasperation at the modern Republican Party, and confessed that he has become “less conservative” as a result.

He was never a conservative and I can prove it with his own words.

Posner expressed admiration for President Ronald Reagan and the economist Milton Friedman, two pillars of conservatism. But over the past 10 years, Posner said, “there’s been a real deterioration in conservative thinking. And that has to lead people to re-examine and modify their thinking.”

This is a “judge”?  This is frightening. You’re either conservative or you’re not.  If you believe, for example, in supply-side economics, what forces you to modify your thinking? Other people acting goofy?

“I’ve become less conservative since the Republican Party started becoming goofy,” he said.

Apparently.

I wonder if this guy is a principled conservative or just some weirdo that would change his views because of high school type cliques and such.

Because if you put yourself in Roberts’ position … what’s he supposed to think? That he finds his allies to be a bunch of crackpots? Does that help the conservative movement? I mean, what would you do if you were Roberts? All the sudden you find out that the people you thought were your friends have turned against you, they despise you, they mistreat you, they leak to the press. What do you do? Do you become more conservative? Or do you say, ‘What am I doing with this crowd of lunatics?’ Right? Maybe you have to re-examine your position.”

My question is answered.  He’ll be perfect for the left-wing. Take him.

Just because he was appointed by Reagan doesn’t make him conservative.

I’ll give him the benefit of doubt (on my part), after all, he IS in Chicago.

He might be saying that so he won’t end up as a “suicide” in Lincoln Park.

I mean, you wouldn’t think the Oministration would stoop to something that stooopid……

    Naaaaaaaaaah.

Posner used to be relatively un-fucked-in-the-head. His opinions were pretty well-reasoned. He wasn’t exactly the second coming of Justinian, Solomon, or Hammurabi, but he wasn’t bad.

    (Saying that as an attorney.)

…what would you do if you were Roberts?

Let…me…think…OH, YES! Vote with the intelligent justices on the court and quit rewriting laws. Only Congress can say if something is a tax. Or do Article 1, Section 2, Clause 1 and Article 1, Section 8, Clause 1 give Judge Poser a problem?

Hey judge! I’d rather be Goofy than Butt-Head.

You lost me right there. If you’re a conservative, you get exasperated with the Republican party and become less REPUBLICAN, not less CONSERVATIVE.

“I’ve become less conservative since the Republican Party started becoming goofy,”

Or maybe because you weren’t really one to begin with. Jackwipe.

And what was Roberts supposed to do? Oh I dunno, maybe striking down a law that was clearly unconstitutional in every sense of the word instead of flip flopping mid-decision under pressure from libturd media and a commie-wannabe President, and essentially rewriting the most controversial portion from the bench to somehow justify his display of spinelessness. I could go on, but everyone already knows the story so there’s no point.

So stuff it, Posner. And go run with the unicorns in lefty land. I’m sure life is easier when all you need is talking points fed to you. Free thinking is hard, especially when you actually take the time to take reality into account, instead of choosing to be completely oblivious to it.

Yes, fiscal sanity and the rule of law is now goofy.

It is the Republican party that are the lunatics, not babbling messes who scream “Democracy is DEAD” in WI after they lost a straight up vote.

Or Maxine Waters, who wants to Nationalize the Oil Industry.

Or Hank Johnson, who thinks effing Guam is going to tip over.

Or Sheila Jackson Lee, who thinks Hurricanes should have name-diversification.

    Or Debbie Wasserman-Scrunt (enough said)

You can do this all night, and yet Republicans are lunatics.

Gotcha, Hoss. Enjoy those OWS freaks when they shit on your front porch.

Well Dick, I would stand steadfast to my nconservative convictions that I have lived by all my life. But apparently, you and Roberts don’t have any convictions. Which means you’re not real conservatives and lean which ever way the political wind blows. That would be fine if you both weren’t judicial officers! Dick.
