New Assassin’s Creed III Trailer Incorporates Live Action

Ubisoft tapped into the nation’s patriotism Wednesday when it released a new, live-action trailer for the American Revolution-themed Assassin’s Creed III.

The action is set in 1775 with slow-motion scenes and haunting music. Each character portrait, including a young soldier, a priest, and a Parliament politician, brings a different persona to the game.

“There’s the American Revolution you know from history books. And then there’s the revolution you’ll be fighting,” the Ubisoft website said.

Players control protagonist Connor, a lone assassin fighting against enemies looking to win the war and control the 13 colonies. From city streets to battlefields, gamers will meet “legendary heroes of American history,” Ubisoft’s website said, “and together you will conspire to annihilate those who threaten Liberty itself.”

The new trailer’s first look at Connor comes at the very end, when the video jarringly moves from live-action players into an animated shot of the protagonist standing amongst red-coated soldiers.

Can’t wait till this game comes out. Mr. Illustr8r will be playing and I will be his “wingman” since I have terrible hand, eye, brain coordination when it comes to video games…but I am good at pointing out things that need to be killed or collected.

A quick look at the YouTube comments indicates a lot of non-Americans are boo-hooing that this game leans too much toward the U.S. perspective, and it’s not fair to the British, Germans, Native Americans, French, Portugese, Tibetans, Martians, etc. etc.

Dang, it’s a game, people! Make your own game about how the British beat the Americans and see how that sells!

On July 4, I re-read the Declaration of Independence. Substitute BHO for King George and the charges against the king are almost identical. However, BHO has gone far beyond King George in his attack on the states.

I like the AC series. But this one really has me intrigued. I love the idea and I hope it plays out well.

How do I get my wife to buy in to that notion? She loathes video games and barely tolerates me playing them….

@muddjuice I’m a bit of a nerd so maybe that helps. Hubby works in the video game industry and I did too years ago. So, I’m genetically inclined I guess- interested in character design and environments by default.
