I take one small exception to Doc’s post. Kenya was indeed known as Kenya since the 1870′s. The country by itself was known as Kenya since at least 1922. It was part of a group of three countries, Kenya, Uganda and Tanganyika which together made up the British East Africa Protectorate.

IF O’s birth cert were genuine, his mother would have been asked about the father’s birthplace and she would have responded Kenya, since that is what she knew and the clerk making out the original form would not have known any differently.

Searches on the said SSN # have returned Jean Paul Ludwig, so the scenario of BHO using a prior number could be valid. Snope’s claim may be valid as well.

@Stirrin, no one can access the original application form (SS5) stored on microfiche without proper legal reasons etc… The SS5 form would be proof if the SSN was applied for by Obama (Snopes reasoning prevails) or if it was applied for by Jean Paul Ludwig (BHO is using JP Ludwig’s SSN number fraudulently).

Unfortunately that article is not 100% correct, in fact it is likely closer to 0% correct. While Kenya became an official state in 1963, the protectorate name was changes in 1923 to Kenya Colony or for short Kenya.

The hospital name issue has also been debunked, through publications searches from before 1961 and the name does go back to about 1931.

I would like him out more than you could imagine but re-posting fallacious information does not help the cause.

@Dr. Tar — While the Snopes article you linked definitely has merit, I would like to see a minimum of five examples of people living in X2345 zip code getting a SSN that would go to someone living in Y2345 zip code. I’m sure it has happened and therefore, the records should not be difficult to obtain.

If no examples are present, then I recommend disregarding the entire Snopes article.

OK I am no expert on how SS# are determined, if there are any errors or if there is an outright fraud in re: to Teh Cursed One. I quoted and posted Snopes to let everyone know this is the explanation that is going to be used to try to minimize this dispute to rest.

the 70′s This would also help to explain why the information was incorrect about obama’s father.. if he even was his father.
The fact the the information on the BC about where he was born and what name it was called makes me believe that obama was someone they knew but not well enough to get all the back ground straight on him.

Sometimes the lack of any evidence that something exists means that the object does not exist. Even you have to admit that there are lots of questions and very few answers. The reason that there has been more scrutiny with this president is because he has been the only one who has never produced any evidence that he was born here and is eligible to anyone other than his cronies.

In fact, Obama is the only US president and until Romney the only US presidential candidate to publish his birth certificate.

What games? Obama has published his birth certificate, short form and long form, and the officials in Hawaii have repeatedly confirmed the facts on them IN WRITING. For example, the Conservative Republican Secretary of State of Arizona asked the Hawaii DOH to confirm that it has Obama’s birth certificate on file and that the facts on the birth certificate show that he was born in Hawaii, and Hawaii did confirm, and the Secretary of State of Arizona accepted that confirmation.

Birthers simply claim that there is something wrong with the birth certificate, but that is the unsupported claims of birther “experts.” They say things like “there would not be layers.” But in fact, that is how PDF works, with layers.
