Except for the knickers and powdered wigs, we are living the same nightmare today that we were then.
I don’t know about you, but I doubt the men that fought for our freedom in 1776 would be particularly happy to hear we ELECTED the current king.

Bill Whitte has a 4th of July “Afterburner” series video out…
I am going to repost this again this 4th of July to my Facebook page. Happy Independence Day today everyone, We are and still will always be the last best hope as a nation despite Obama. In fact, I believe that Barry will suffer the most ignominious defeat of any American President ever come election day in Nov. We are a great nation and a great people because of God and because of our founding fathers wisdom written in The Declaration Of Independence. We are still the best nation on earth where we can still celebrate Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. May God bless us all this Independence Day especially our servicemen and women overseas. I too spent a 4th of July away from home on board the USS Kitty Hawk CV-63 on July 4, 1974. And if you get a chance, watch the Great American 4th of July by Jean Shepard on You Tube. I watched it the other day for the 1st time since it originally was on American Playhouse in the late 70′s or early 80′s and I still laugh myself silly at the Old Man at his love for fireworks and the 4th of July. And Lud Kissell, the town drunk and the disastrous but funny episode with a very large rocket that goes awry and all over the place. Great stuff.
Magnificent!!!! Wonderfully presented. Meaningful and inspiring.
Time to confirm the zeroes on the “evil black rifles” and inventory ammunition.
I won’t run. I won’t submit. I aim to misbehave.

The founding fathers would kick our asses if they could see what we’ve let happen. Time to get all 1776 on the communist bastards that have had it too good for too long in this great nation ours.

With the exception of Ann Barnhardt I see no evidence of meaningful political action by anyone in the public sphere including this website and its participants. It is time for tax revolution and a complete divorce from all things FED. Do not let fear keep you from moral action.

@Billy Fuster–
Not everyone has the time or the guts to be “in-your-face” like Ann (and I mean that in the most positive way possible–she is courageous and inspirational). I’ll lay odds that plenty of folks have been moved to action, just not on a meta-political scale. Yet.
“Meaningful political action” takes many forms, some large, some small. And not all actions take place in the public eye.
@MaryfromMarin — Perfect example. I know that filing tax returns and having any taxes withheld from your salary is voluntary. But if you fail to volunteer, the federal gestapo ruins your life. So I know that if I ever get on a jury involving any tax case, my vote is not guilty and it is my duty to educate the other members.
I cannot stand in the open, at least not to the degree of someone like Ann Barnhardt. I have a family to house, clothe, and feed. My responsibilites are God, family, country — in that order. I do what I can. But if push comes to shove, I will fight.

I made the point to get back to WI and get my vote in for Scott Walker in May. I made sure 3 other adults / family members also cast their votes in that recall. I have my absentee ballot registration completed and I will be voting in the up coming primaries in August and in November in this Battle ground state – along with my other family members.
Yeah, not as dramatic as not paying income taxes – mine are deducted by my employer so I can’t avoid them. All I can to get as much back in a return as soon as I can get my taxes filed.
