Andrew Sullivan’s Twisted Logic
Sullivan writes a piece at the Daily Beast where he applauds the way a recent CNN host came out – quietly, matter of factly and with little fanfare.
He says that this is the goal, to have gay people so mainstream that “coming out” is a ho-hum moment.
Andrew writes this in a long-winded essay that, if he could, would be accompanied by a soundtrack of “It’s Raining Men,” a police siren and a few cowboys, Indians and policemen in buttless chaps tossing rainbows into the air from a Rip Taylor shopping bag full of confetti.
The man who came out has it right. Andrew, on the other hand, is part of the coalition of gays who believe that it’s fruitless to be gay unless it’s the centerpiece on table one. If being gay actually becomes as ho-hum as he says he wants it to be, and he’s relegated to table 23 near the kitchen, he’s going to set the table on fire.
Here’s the stupid piece, if you must.

It’s nauseating to hear gays, or gay agenda apologists, say that their plight is the same as the civil rights struggle for blacks.
No, it’s not. Not at all.
Aside from skin color, blacks are no different than whites, so whites’ discrimination was baseless. Blacks assimilation is seamless.
Not true of gays.
Their assimilation changes the fabric of society. It changes everything.
You can argue whether the changes are good, bad or indifferent after you concede that this is nothing like the black struggle for civil rights.

Twisted logic? That’s the only kind of logic Andy knows. What’s his latest Sarah Palin Uterine Conspiracy Theory?

In my years of living I have noticed that most women tend to establish relationships with their thoughts or concepts being guided by love or wishing for it. Men on the other hand are socially, instinctively, and biologically driven by “sex”. Love develops later or more slowly. While is quite understandable and natural to see that gays tend to “love” each other sooner or later, it is the MEN who are driven by “sex” as a first priority and as an initial attractant to other men OR women. Gay MEN practice some very disgusting habits……….and that is what differentiates them from gay women. This is not an absolute either way……but is the most prevalent situation. Older gay men tend to become pedophiles much more readily partly because of the male aggressiveness. It’s just the way it is folks. Making your sexual deviancy into a political statement is also unseemly.

Mr. Hat,
C’mon. An anthropologist can find a thigh bone and tell you if the owner was Negroid, Caucasoid, or Mongoloid. That same anthropologist would have some difficulty determining whether or not the owner was a pole smoker.

Speaking as someone who has spent a lot of time around gay men and am more than a little familiar with their concerns and causes, I can tell you that while the majority of the ones I’ve known just want to live their lives and not be discriminated against, there is a sizable population that doesn’t want mere acceptance, because acceptance would be so mainstream and then they wouldn’t be special little snowflakes anymore.

With most of the world becoming gay now, I wonder how we are going to change traditional things like Male/female dorms and barracks and such. Does Cooper now only get searched by gay women TSA screeners? When a lesbian goes to a male Doctor, does a gay male nurse need to be present in the room? and what about bi-sexuals and transgenders? Are we gonna need eunuchs to deal with this stuff?
