jr–it’s not pleasure reading. I would imagine there is some investigation that needs to be done about most of the garbage in these bills.
Jeesh-what a smart ass!

At the very least, Rand Paul talks common sense and that’s damn hard to come by now-a-days.
Nancy’s BS that ‘we have to pass the bill in order to see what’s in it’ was never acceptable.

jr – i heard him say wait 1 day per 20 pages not read 10 pages per day. i have no problem with a 600 page bill being published for 30 days before voting on it

I agree- he’s a solid man-a Senate half full of Rand Pauls and we’d be on the way back-compare him to Schumer. Or Durbin. Or Boxer.

You NEED to watch this. Marco Rubio on the Jon Dailey show. At the end, Jon half ass endorses Marco. This dude is awesome. He deserves the VP slot.
Seriously, we need to crack down on these guys in a BIG way. We need to start by addressing the rules of the Senate. We have to be the ones who make the rules! Look no further than the dysfunctional Sen. Reid and his ability to shut down any piece of legislation that he doesn’t like or that forces ‘dealmkers’ to take a position on something they’d prefer not to. I’d really like to stop paying for their health care, too. Wouldn’t you? It would be great if they were forced to deal with the real-world results of Obama Care. And I really like the idea of not being able to pass a bill until it’s final version has been posted online for at least a month. Just a few steps would force a little accountability from these cowards.

Senator Paul is a victim of the same thing we are enduring. It’s called lawlessness. Harry Reid is a very sick man. He needs to be removed from Congress.

Harry Reid and company treat the Senate and by extension the United States with cynical contempt. There is more respect for the rules and traditions in a Fantasy Football league.

Holy shit!!! The Rand would think it necessary to introduce a bill which requires the members “read the bills before they pass them” is a profound statement!
WTF are they being paid to do?
Then when we demand time to read the fucking bills, we have assfaces like piglosi telling us, with a straight face (well, as straight s a plastic face can be straight), “we have to pass them BEFORE we can even see what the fucks in them” AFTER having blocked an entire 1/2 of the Congress from the negotiations and discussions of the bills???
Doublespeak: The ability to hold two or more contradictory ideals in ones head while believing them all to be true….Orwell was a fucking prophet, not an author/ philosopher!!!

What’s truly depressing is that the so-called aware “tea party” people that visit sites like this still think the government can be fixed. Reality alert–IT CAN’T. You have two choices. One is to continue to acquiesce to the state’s increasing demands (paying income tax, obeying unjust laws, etc.) until you live under totalitarianism. The other is to lay it on the line and join in massive civil disobedience, ignore the fed in every way, quit supporting all parasites, and strengthen local governments.

@Brad – Thanks for posting the link. That was awesome. Rubio is quick on his feet and shot down every one of Stewart’s democrat talking points. Even though he gave Rubio grudging props at the end, Stewart still thinks of himself as the smartest guy in the room.

What is the matter with Rand Paul?
How in the world does he expect our “Lord, and Master” Barack Insane Owe’Bama to fundamentally transform America into a Marxist’s Worker’s Utopia, if we follow the rules. How can our “Dear Leader” hornswoggle, and enslave us to his backwards, destructive ideology of punishing America for being successful if the congress uses common sense, and reads their own bills before they vote on them.
Sheeesh, Rand are you some kind of racist or something? Demanding that Senators actually know what’s in the bills they are voting on, before they vote. Obviously you’re bigoted against ignorant people. And that’s un-American.

All bills seem to be hundreds or thousands of pages long as Obamacare was. Doesn’t this tell us something? Either Congress is so incompetent they cannot make a law that stands the test of time, or they are merely supporting their latest donors and friends. I would say both are true.

Not only should they be required to read each bill, they should also be required to write a report. Those that don’t get a passing grade can’t vote on it.
