Romney Has a New Name as Far as We’re Concerned

Home - by - June 29, 2012 - 17:15 America/New_York - 14 Comments

He’s not Mitt Romney anymore, he’s ACA Repealer.

If ACA Repealer gets voted in and doesn’t repeal it on DAY ONE, DAY TWO he is carried out of the white house and thrown onto a funeral pyre.

I just got a reply to yesterdays e-mail to my congressman:

    Dear Mr. Menderman:

Thank you for contacting me with your thoughts on the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold Obamacare. I appreciate you taking the time to share your opinion and I am happy to respond.

Please know that I share your extreme disappointment with the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold Obamacare. The 5-4 decision maintains the controversial individual mandate, making it lawful to tax an individual who does not buy health insurance. The House of Representatives is scheduled to consider legislation to repeal Obamacare during the week of July 9th. I have voted against Obamacare and supported every effort to repeal it in whole or in part, and will continue to do so.

This is a sad day for liberty in America. Today a slim majority of the Supreme Court decreed that the federal government can use the power of taxation to force Americans to do whatever it wants. That is outrageous. In fact, in his majority opinion Chief Justice John Roberts went so far as to state that the federal government also had the power to tax ‘every taxpayer who owns a house without energy efficient windows.’ This should be a wake-up call for Americans. Their freedoms are rapidly being stripped away by an increasingly socialist government. We are headed down a dangerous path, and the only hope for reversing this course is through the ballot box in November.

Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts. If I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

    Sincerely,

    Walter B. Jones
    Member of Congress

Well, “ACA Repealer” *does* take away *some* of the salt from the RINO-inflicted wound.

Hope springs eternal. Yet, his words in his response around noon yesterday *weren’t* promising.

Coming from D.C., I’m *more* than willing to chalk them
(“pre-existing conditions”, “affordable healthcare for all Americans”)
up to calculated political pandering…but his demonstrated, proven track record does NOT bode well on this:

Given Lord Acton’s “Power tends to corrupt, absolute power corrupts absolutely” dictum, the “establishment” Republicans are EQUALLY seduced by Obamamcare’s power/control…only that THEY want the power.

    But, YES, let’s paraphrase Reagan:
    Trust but verify REPEAL.

    Great idea! Great logo!

In case he’s hoping that people will FORGET about yesterday’s decision over the next four months, he needs to be reminded that NOBODY is going to forget.

@Menderman, you are lucky that you have a congressman with a working brain. I gave you 2 TU’s and I don’t even know how I did it!

    Here’s my dream.

It is January 20, 2013. President-elect Romney is standing before Chief Justice John Roberts. Ann Romney is holding the Bible. Mitt places his left hand on the Bible, raises his right hand and recites the oath of office.

When he is done, a person steps out of the crowd and gives President Romney an envelope. He opens the envelope, removes a bill from Congress that has contains one line.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 is hereby repealed in its entirety.

President Romney signs the bill, directly in front of Barack Obama, then hands the pen he used to sign the bill to Obama as a keepsake, and proceeds to the lectern to give his inaugural address, where he explains to the crowd what he just did.

    Obama Must Go. DLTDHYOTWO!

    @menderman–

I know, it was a futile request. No one in their right mind would want Woolsey, unless it was to trade for Franken (and we don’t do inter-species trades, like betw. House and Senate).

I just pretend I live farther north, in Tom McClintock’s district.
