I think when Romney wins and the GOP takes the house and the senate, the first bill introduced should be the Home Safety Act. This law would require all adults to own a gun or pay a $10,000 fine. They could argue that crime costs everyone, so it isn’t fair for some people to be able to defend themselves and not everyone. The Supremes already said this is a solid argument.

And here’s the beauty of it. For liberals, it’s a lose-lose situation. They claim that abortion is a constitutional right but that any woman should be able to get an abortion for free (that is, paid by tax money) precisely because it is a right.
Okay. Owning a firearm for personal protection is a right. SCOTUS said so. Applying the abortion reasoning means my guns and ammo have to be paid for by tax money. Now, apply the Obamatax ruling and everyone has to have a firearm or face a “tax.” Trying to prosecute everyone for not having a firearm would cost more than the $10,000 fine…uh, tax. The liberals would be in a quandry because it would be cheaper for the gov’t to just give the guns away! Which is basically what they’re doing with health care.
