Lie to me

A little confluence of events this week has brought to the fore of my mind the sad, sick reality that most people in this culture are so far gone that they WANT to be lied to, and will seek out and attach themselves to liars. While it is nauseating to behold, it is also interesting in a clinical sort of way.

First, I helped some guys out in outing a con artist blogger earlier this week. What was fascinating was watching people cling to their “friend” even while being beaten over the head with objective evidence over and over and over again. Seeing it on a micro level was jarring, but then I realized that it was exactly the same Stockholm Syndrome variant that keeps people loyal to these scumbag politicians and cult leaders. People get themselves into such “herd” and “team” mentalities (which is just a fraction of an inch away from being a “gang” mentality) that they will do absolutely anything for the psychopath that they are attached to. Think Hitler. Think Jim Jones. Think Obama.

Which segues into my speaking engagement Thursday for a Tea Party group here in Colorado. As I was setting up my PowerPoint and clicker, one of the Tea Party fellows came up to me and told me that I shouldn’t talk about islam to this group, and that I should refrain from any “extreme facial expressions.” I poop you negative.

Well, as you can imagine, that was like dangling a steak in front of an already irate and half-starved Rottweiler. My interior response?

“RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!!!”

It is certainly satisfying to witness to the truth to people who want to hear it. But you know what is even better? Witnessing to the truth to people who DON’T want to hear it – to people who WANT to be lied to.

By the end of my talk two-thirds of the people had gotten up and left. A third didn’t want to hear the truth about islam – for fear of being called “racist” – and the other third didn’t want to hear the truth about Romney and the Republican Party in general. You all have probably seen my takedown of islam – it is on my YouTube channel, link to your left – but you may be wondering what I said to infuriate the rah-rah Tea Partiers about Romney and the GOP.

I call this the “So, You Want To Be President of the United States, Huh?” lecture. It goes a little something like this:

I want the truth says America! Well America you can’t handle the truth!

And that is the sad state of affairs in America. A great majority won’t believe or want to hear the truth and the rest have their heads buried in the sand.

I don’t think there is a human alive today that can fix the world and its collision course with disaster.

Ann an excellent, disturbing and sad article. Mankind has thrown aside God and his laws and being the realist I am, I know without them we are doomed.

Sorry Ann, I’m just tired of the bile and vitriol you throw at pretty much everybody and everything. How about some answers and some positive ideas. Hope. How are you arriving at all of these “inevitable outcomes”: nuclear war, total collapse of the economy? I agree that there will be tough times ahead, but there have been tremendous challenges in the past that have been overcome.

We definitely need God’s love and his help, and maybe things need to get worse (again) before they get better. It seems to be a pattern that started probably before the Old Testament.

Last year I started seeing the so-called “right-wing” of this country engage in the same kind of desperate hero-worship that surrounded Obama in 2008. People abandoned objective thought in favor of grasping at straws to either justify their candidate or demonize the other guy’s candidate.

“Healthcare mandates and Islamic appeasement are wrong! Perry 2012!”
“Rick Perry engaged in both, you know.”
“Healthcare mandates and Islamic appeasement are OK! Perry 2012!”

Republicans have allowed Conservatism to be left off the presidential ballot for two elections in a row now. America as we knew it is done and over with. The Fourth of July is a funeral.

Ann may have a point, but I’m voting for Romney over obama. If we stay on the current course with obama, we are certainly doomed to all her predictions.

And if Romney is our only choice other than obama, then I am not going to start shitting on Romney right before the election. There’s plenty of time for that once he’s in the WH and we see first hand whether he’s a complete screw up or not.

Ann is right about Romney and the RINOS. But as bad as they are, Obama is 10 times worse. Before Obama was elected I looked up his past and tried to tell people about him. They wouldn’t believe it.
Now a lot of people who voted for him believe it, but it’s to late. They are jobless and lost a ton of money.
Politics is a dangerous game. It goes before the good of the Republic.

Sarah Palin said that if the US was ready for an ‘unconventional’ President, she would step up to the plate. Ann’s discourse emphasizes how far from ‘ready’ the people are to even accept someone who tells the truth, let alone governs in an unconventional manner. How sad.

If I understand Anne’s complaint, it’s about the Tea Party not wanting to hear the truth. Her claim is that Tea Partiers don’t already know much of the truth and that couldn’t be a more erroneous assumption on her part. I wasn’t there or part of her discussion w/the person, but I’m guessing they didn’t want a speaker who would freak out the 20-25% of the voters who are still on the fence about their choice of candidates at this point. That’s all the Tea Party needs right now, someone who ends up as a video clip on legacy media as the so-called “voice of the Tea Party.” Suppose I, as a Tea Party member, took an undecided neighbor, maybe someone who voted for Obama, even, to that particular meeting? I can hear the conversation echoing in my red hot, embarrassed ears, starting with: “So, this is the Tea Party, huh? Looks like MSNBC was right all along.”

Ann sounds more and more like the modern day version of “joan of arc”.

The insurmountable debt is our ruin and no one wants to talk about it.

Instead of asking Ann what her plan is for getting us out of this mess, how about asking yourself what is your plan to get us out of this mess.

If you all think electing romney is the answer, you are in for a rude awakening.

The end is near unless we dismantle the leviathan government and repeal all these business stifling

Those are hard, hard words to read.

But if it’s true, and there is no hope?

Then our cause is as hopeless and helpless as Winston Smith’s. And as he did, a person would be forced to retreat into the insanity of loving Big Brother. Because then the alternative of fighting a hopeless battle is personal anathema.

I won’t give up my vote.
I won’t give it up even if it appears to be worthless. I would rather go down fighting, even if that fight appears to be useless.
To decide not to participate at all is surrender.
    To stand action-less is surrender.
To choose the lesser of two evils is still better than not choosing at all.
Not choosing is admitting defeat before the battle has even begun, let alone over.
To stand to the side and proudly proclaim, “I refuse to choose” IS a choice.
    It’s called surrender.

Ulysses Grant and Dwight Eisenhower were both considered poor choices to lead their troops. They were considered poor even by their peers and those under them.
And yet – in spite of the fact that their enemies were many on both sides of the battle – they won the day.

    So my choice?
    I fight.
I fight even if all around me give up.
I fight even when my chosen leader is considered weak and worthless.
I fight even if my choices are slim to none.

“Of course the game is rigged. Don’t let that stop you – if you don’t play, you can’t win.”

Very easy choice. Vote for every conservative, support the conservatives, talk to your friends and neighbors. Do what you can, but don’t let Obama spend any more time screwing up our country.

IDK….my spirit tells me that Palin and Rubio are God-Fearing/Loving people doing the best they can. For the record…I am NOT happy about our choice and would love it if Palin was the candidate…the fact that she is not tells me that our problem is not candidate selection, but the lazy, uninformed people at large. THAT is what’s scary. Keep praying and May God Bless America!

    Zim-

I am saying just removing one professional politician and replacing him with another professional politician is suicide according to einstein.

We will not get different results with romney unless we citizens continually demand smaller government by protesting against any proposed growth no matter how much the msm cries of how it hurts the minorities, poor and downtrodden. We have to do it to the point where we are castigated as the enemies of this now perverted republic.

If you need to ask Ann what her plan is to solve the problem, I wonder if we have any men left to take the required necessary course of action to restore the republic and our freedom.

“I don’t need no stinking leaders”.
I know what freedom and personal responsibility is and I don’t need any to define it for me or tell me how to aquire it.

Although I agree Romney isn’t the best we can do, he’s a shitload better than obama could ever hope to be…I have NO intention of simply laying down and admitting defeat, if I am to go down, its going to be fighting for what I believe…America IS the GREATEST country on the planet, the Constitution of the United States IS among the greatest documents ever written, and without God, we’re done!
So, I’ll keep my guns and use them ‘if’ necessary, BELIVE in my country and her people, and pray my ass off that something shifts…God has NOT abandon us, we’ve abandon Him, and I believe if we to get back to him, and apply His principles and teachings to this country, we will once again, rise…if we don’t, nothing else matters!
We CAN be one nation under God again (whatever you choose Him to be) but without Him, we can’t be anything at all…
I swore an oath on September 29th, 1977 to “protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against ALL enemies, foriegn and domestic…” I didn’t take that oath lightly and oaths don’t end…so…we can either lie down or we can fight for what’s ours…America is the ONLY country founded on a great idea….

Here’s a little thought to get you through the day…

Americans have allowed themselves to be immobilized.
    Immobilized by their own fears.
Immobilized by their own selfish concerns.
Immobilized by a lack of understanding of freedom, secured by our forefathers, into which we were born.
    Freedom is NOT free.
We must ultimately choose what we believe in:
The high demands and risks of freedom, or the security of the slave and the tranquility of the grave!
    “Amerika” (a novel), 1988

I enjoy my ‘freedom’, such as it is, far too much to ever become a slave, and I’m far too young for the grave (51, today is my birthday…Happy Birthday to Me…LOL) so, the ONLY alternative I have is to fight and pray…and believe we CAN come out the other side a better nation for all, but we’ve got to put away the stupid shit (liberals & special interests), get back to Common Sense governance, believe in God and ourselves and fight…..

Four more years of this guy will destroy this nation. I have a front row seat. Mexico’s manufacturing economy is booming as ours continues to slowly die. Everyone here has probably been effected by his economic policies. Some of us more than others. If you think it’s bad now, go ahead and split the vote. You might as well be voting for him. Mitt Romney was born to two U.S. citizens, so how is he not eligible?

Romney’s mother was a natural born citizen, and his father was a naturalized U.S. citizen since he was a child. Mitt is obviously eligible.

We face profound difficulties, just as our forebears. An “unrepayable” debt simply won’t be repaid. As that debt is repudiated, the civilized world (Europe and the U.S.) will descend into Weimar-like conditions. The caliphate will continue the jihad, but China and Russia may awaken to the musloid danger and react accordingly. Millions will die, but remnants will remain.

Politicians hope they’ve stolen enough and are out of office before the shit hits the fan and the sheeple hope they retire and die before the shit hits the fan. Sooner or later, someone is left holding the bag – the staggering debt, the cultural and racial animosity, and the security of thousands of nuclear weapons. Hopeless? Not at all. Easy? Nope.
