What Is Everyone So Worried About?

Everyone is so gloomy about the future these days. Polls show that most people think we’re on the wrong path, and everyone walks around looking like the president just ate their dogs. We look at the sluggish economy, the nearly $16 trillion in debt, the crumbling world situation, and the sudden outbreak of bath-salt-fueled cannibalism, and we all start to feel like we’re nearing the end times. But do any of us stop to think what exactly it is we’re worried about? Like, if we never get a handle on any of this — unemployment stays high and kids get even fatter — what is the big, huge bad thing that’s going to happen?

For instance, what’s the worst that could happen to us if we never get a handle on our finances — if we just keep spending and spending while the economy crumbles further? I guess in the absolute worst-case scenario, we’d have a complete economic meltdown, our money would become worthless, our government would collapse, and our infrastructure would fall apart. Basically, all of civilization would be destroyed.

Again, that is the absolute worst case — it is somewhat possible that things not as bad as that could happen. But even if the worst does happen — and modern civilization does end –  what does that mean for us? Well, America still has plenty of forests where we can collect branches to build crude shelters and hunt animals to skin for clothing and eat for food. So even if things are as bad as we can possibly imagine, we have this nice fallback option of becoming hunter-gatherers again. People might even enjoy their new, simpler living conditions. People do like camping. And the movie The Hunger Games was pretty popular. Plus, this would pretty much end childhood obesity. And one day, soon after we start living this way, we’ll all say, “Wow, we sure were spoiled with all that running water, electricity, and no need to fear wild animals. Weren’t we silly about that?” And we’ll have a good laugh. Well, not all of us — just those who make it past the first winter. So a few of us. A few of us will have a good laugh.

Like Hank says, A shot gun a rifle and a four wheel drive, a country boy can survive.

I’m here to tell ya, our generation may just yet be remembered as the sad fuckers who had to wade into the breach…the breach created by the vaunted “greatest generation”. Who else will?

The WWII folks…whatta nightmare they faced! But they come home, decide that nobody will ever “want” for shit again, and inadvertently fuck over the future with their crazy, anti-human nature, well meaning as it is, yet soul crushing in results…utter fucking sociological social engineering horseshit!!!

Well, we’ve bankrupted ourselves making everybody feel loved, and the end result is everyone feels fucked, so where do we turn?

And while I’m standing on the soapbox, can I point out that the ONLY immigrant group kicking ass and taking names here are the Asians, who, ironically, if you love and really understand America, coincidentally stand for family, excellence, faith, knowledge, fealty, respect, understanding, and did I mention, excellence?

Lessons here? Only if you’re fucking AWAKE.

I let God take care of all of my worries, that way I can enjoy my life more. And besides no one else really cares so why should I worry. Life is so much easier when I let God take care of me and the things that I worry about. I also know that when I worry I get grumpy and all PO’d about things it ruins my day until I give it all back to God again. Don’t worry, be happy! That is why I love the Happiness hour on Dennis Prager’s show on Fridays. Also, love the Jimmy Durante song, Make Someone Happy. When I hear that all my worries are whisked away because when I’m thinking about or helping someone else my worries tend to go away. It’s a great day to be alive and not worry. “Cast all your cares upon the Lord and he will sustain you.” If I am preaching so be it because I am grateful and happy to be alive and enjoy every day God has given me as a gift of renewal and strength to get through the day without fear or worry. God knows I have enough problems so why should I worry when he takes better care of me than I can by myself.

    Brad

I’m having a week at work so bad it has hair, and it’s 100% realated to the fact that EVERYONE I work with (coworkers, customers…EVERYONE) is totally spent, broken, and demoralized.

Being in construction during the Obama Depression is no fun, brother.

So yea, I was drinking last night!

Probably a good thing we don’t live close to each other or our livers would be dead. It’s getting right down to the nut for us too. Getting freaking tired of chasing cash.

Well, look at the bright side: The LIPs in every city in America will be eating each other in a matter of days!

Chicago, Detroit, New York, &c., &c., will no longer be saddled with socialist gov’ts.

chief — I’ve been reading news lately about the Asians, too. The worst part is that they predominantly vote D.

    Blech.

I thought they were smarter than that.
