Biden: ‘Smartest Guy in American Politics’ Is … Jerry Brown?
Vice President Joe Biden called California governor Jerry Brown “the smartest guy in American politics” last night at a California fundraiser. Via the pool report:
Pool was ushered into the hall about 3:17 p.m., just in time to hear Gov. Jerry Brown at the podium ahead of Biden. Biden started speaking about three minutes later to a crowd of about 130 people.
“Nothing has changed,” Biden said of Brown, who was governor before from 1975 to 1983. Biden said he met Brown in San Francisco in the 1970s. He said, “He was the smartest guy in American politics then. He’s still the smartest guy in American politics.”

How in the holy hell did this guy ever make it this far? Besides a complete lack of the brain-to-mouth filter normal people have, it’s almost like there’s four brain cells up in his skull that just kind of flop around. Once in a while they come into contact, there’s a little spark, and he has a thought. What kind of thought depends on the number of cells that touched.
If 2, he remembers to eat, drink, breathe, swallow.
If 3 touch, he gains some vocal capacity, though it is limited to firing off a random four letter word, and that’s about it.
If all 4 touch, then he can actually get out a complete sentence. It won’t be intelligent, and it’s unlikely to make any sense, but at least it is an actual sentence.

@ Rando! That’s what I’m talking about! The dumb ass’s are to blame for voting for the mulatto bastard, “and” the silent majority for not voting at all.
We only have ourselves to blame, and it only makes this mess more difficult to clean up, if ever, at this point.
Maybe we should require the passage of a test to allow someone to vote. Over 50% and you’re in. That seems fair, doesn’t it? You can fail and still vote! Just like a preezy of the USLeezy can be an abject failure and still RULE this country.

The “smartest guy in politics” is counting on balancing the state budget with tax increases now on the November ballot. Nevermind that the last “temporary tax increase” rammed through on Schwartzenegger’s watch really didn’t generate any significant revenue. Nevermind that Proposition 29, a tax on cigarettes, is too close to call and is currently losing by almost 20,000 votes with 300,000 ballots left to count. Nevermind that the last time a tax increase was on the ballot, it was defeated in every California county including San Francisco, Los Angeles and Marin County.
The current tax increases proposed by Mr. Smart Politics will likely go down in flames as well – if you have trouble taxing cigarettes in the state with the lowest percentage of smokers in the country, good luck with that income tax increase. And that’s the good news – if Mr. Brilliant’s tax increases pass, stay off of the I-10 heading out of state or you may get run over by moving vans.
