That was great! I really hope nobody was hurt.

When I was a kid, back before all the regulations, my big sister and I bought 10 bucks worth of fire works at the pack-n-sac. They packed em all up in a brown paper bag. Later that night after the sun was long gone, we set off selected fireworks. And then her best friend, whoshallremainnameless, accidentally?? dropped her punk stick near the bag.

Hahahahah.

The whole bag went up! I ran and hid behind the Rambler, my big sister hid behind the maple tree as every. single. firework. ignited. in our driveway. LOL. I saw my mom peer out behind the dingy yellow gingham and flower curtains that hung in the kitchen. Her face motionless, almost paralyzed as she watched. Roman candles, spinners, bottle rockets, fire crackers,sparklers…you name it. All gone in less than several minutes.

What a show! It was great. No….It was fricken awesome.

It has been years but that was one of my favorite memories as a kid.

The fireworks business isn’t for careless people.

The worst explosion I remember was at a Morton-thiokol subsidiary during the shuttle flight stoppage after the Cgallenger disaster. The contractors were storing a few thousand metric shit-tons of rocket fuel because there weren’t any shuttle launches. A guy who used to work there claimed that on the day the fire broke out, when people saw smoke they ran to their cars and got the heck out as fast as they could. After all they were in the rocket fuel business.

I looked on you tube, I’m pretty sure this is the video from the explosion.I don’t remember if there were any fatalities. If anyone had been within 1/4 mile of the place, the shockwave would have killed them.
