School Contest???

Home - by - June 16, 2012 - 18:30 America/New_York - 9 Comments

A school contest was held to see which 5th grader would deliver a speech on the merits of gay marriage.

This is an endorsement, not a contest. Where was the equal time for the rebuttal?

From MSNBC

Whether or not you approve of gay marriage, most Americans are proud of our commitment to free speech. The two issues became enmeshed when Kameron Slade, a Queens fifth grader, wrote a speech supporting gay marriage for a school-wide contest, including such (non-)inflammatory sentiments as “Marriage is about love, support, and commitment. So who are we to judge?” The adorable kid’s dream of delivering it was dashed when Principal Beryl Bailey decreed it too controversial for fifth grade. But New Yorkers rallied around Slade: Local news channel NY1 allowed Slade to read his entire essay on air — and, after a public outcry, Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott, announced that Slade would be allowed to give it.

!snip!
Of course the idiotic MSNBC misses the point entirely. This is not a free speech issue. There was no free speech here. This was a partisan endorsement paid for by public tax dollars.
This was propaganda.

Since you’ve used tax-payer money for 5th graders to write about the ‘merits’ of gaydom, let’s hear what they have to say about the fallacies of such a union, as though they have any real knowledge of it either way.
However, I do understand what indoctrination is, unfortunately, they do not.

Exactly how is an 11 year old supposed to understand homosexuality, when they don’t even understand their own sexuality?!?!

“My mom is very open to me about same sex marriage. I don’t know if my father is, because like most African dash American ‘families’, I have no idea who my father is and my mother, actually, doesn’t either.”

I want my son to give a presentation to his class on the dangers associated with homosexuality. I wonder if the community will rally around him to protect his free speech?

He was used as pawn, since he didn’t write it and has no concept of queerdom, other than what the government school indoctrination has tried to impose in him.

Hey kid, Kayla dint come about by scissoring…some dude had to stick his pecker in that thing to make a baby. When you get old enough to get a woody it will make more sense…until then, leave the politics to us adults.
