Day is Done for Progressives
Wapo -
Jennifer Rubin-
President Obama, I have frequently argued, has been fabulous for the conservative movement. He spurred the creation of the tea party. He helped the GOP win the House majority in 2010 and make big gains in the Senate. His Obamacare has helped revive the Commerce Clause and given a boost to conservative jurisprudence. His refusal to support human rights has caused a bipartisan revulsion and reminded us that foreign policy must be girded by American values. He’s sent independents running into the GOP’s arms. He’s forced conservatives to think hard and express eloquently principles of religious liberty, limited government, free markets and Constitutional democracy.
Obama also has wrecked havoc in the the Democratic Party. He’s firmly affixed the “tax and spend” label to it after Bill Clinton declared that the era of big government was over. He’s made Clinton into a pitch man for Mitt Romney. His rejection of the Keystone XL pipeline has split the party. His refusal to adopt the Simpson-Bowles commission’s recommendations has turned Democrats into reactionaries, defending the status quo on entitlements. He’s alienated Jewish voters. He’s re-McGovernized the party, which now stands for appeasing despotic powers, turning on allies and slashing defense spending.
Comments in Wapo:
The sweet deal public employee unions have had is being exposed nationwide. No longer will union biggies benefit from automatic paycheck deduction of dues, and instead of paying dues, civil service workers will pay a bit more for their pensions and heath insurance.
ACORN, its successors and assigns, took a brief hit to its federal revenue stream, but the DOJ has found clever ways to keep the spigot open. Over the next four years that spigot will be capped and welded shut. Their other taxpayer funded streams will be discovered and stopped too.

Socialism’s day may be done, but it’s a bacillus – like the plague – and will return.

Wow! This was in the Wapo? Is Jennifer Rubin a token conservative guest columnist? She hit every point right on the head. Ten thumbs up for her!
Read it and weep libturds!

Screw the word “progressive.” We should stop using it.
A lib is a lib is a lib is a lib.
They are Liberals. They’re Liberals. They run from the world Liberal. They embrace the word Progressive. Why do we always let the Left define the words?
They’re LIBERALS.

Kind of along the same lines. Here in an article Chrlie Sykes (Milwaukee conservative radio host) posted on his website.

Not so fast, folks. It’s only act III: boy loses girl.
We must hold fast and make sure the good guy wins in Act IV and the boy goes back to Man Country where he belongs.
Personally I feel he’ll be retiring to Iran or someplace where he’ll be worshipped as the Nobel-Prize-winning son of Allah he believes himself to be. Of course he’ll take the secrets of the Presidency with him unless his plane crashes on the way there…

Nice sum-up that article
Obama has also, unintentionally, done wonders for the firearms industry
I’m actually glad he “won” in 2008: sheeple usually have to live under Hope ‘n Change ‘n Stuff™ before they realize how much they don’t want it

They said same thing back in the day when they were known as communists. They’re like roaches, they just keep showing up.

@Diann, Communist Progressive Party, anybody that identifies themselves as a progressive is telling you they are a communist. Liberals are just whacked, progressives are dangerous. I think it was John Stossel that did a real good show on this. If you ever get a chance watch it.

Liberals are like insects or bugs at a picnic or backyard barbecue…an insidious irritation we tolerate to a point, until they become overly obnoxious…at which point we reach for the “Yard Guard” and NUKE em.

I quit using the terms “Liberal” and “Progressive” years ago. They are “Lib-Cong” or “Prog-Cong”. I frequently use “Dem-Cong”, but it irritates my lovely bride so I limit its use.
“Lib-Cong” is, in my opinion, the most accurate term.

The widely accepted meme in Nov 2008 was that we were entering a 1000 year Reich of Obama-Dem socialism and that conservatives and Republicans were done.
It’s the era of American Idol politics.
