Elizabeth Emken to challenge Dianne Feinstein in November
Republican Elizabeth Emken will go head to head with Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein on the November ballot.
The Danville Republican is currently carrying 12 percent of votes cast in today’s statewide primary, nearly double the vote share of the third-place candidate, fellow Republican Dan Hughes.
Emken, who won the California Republican Party endorsement, was one of 23 candidates running against Feinstein on today’s primary ballot. Most of the remaining candidates won 2 percent of the vote or less.
Feinstein easily captured the top spot in today’s primary, which allows all voters to select between candidates of all political leanings. The 78-year-old incumbent is winning 50 percent of the vote in early returns.

A noble endeavor, Elizabeth, but Koleefornia is a lost cause.
The clueless denizens will gladly re-up any brainless Dem socialist.

@Birdie — You got that right. Nothing that Feinstein says or does will ever turn the socialists against her. The only hope I see for Ms. Emken is to get the latino vote. If she can swing 50-60% of the latinos, she might win. But that’s only if she can show them how anti-latino the democrats are. Otherwise, no hope. Or change.

I had never seen her name until I saw my ballot yesterday. I’ll vote for her and encourage all I know to do the same but, I live in “North” California and the rest of this place seems to like ol’prune face.

I never received ANY information about her from the CA GOP, although I am a long-time-registered R. On the other hand, I received plenty of helpful information from Dan Hughes, whose positions I appreciated and agreed with. Guess who I voted for?
The CA GOP frequently seems out of touch with us rank and filers. Can’t win elections that way.

Are all rconservative women classy?
Or does it just seem that way when compared to the likes of DWS?

Dianne ‘spread the wealth through legislation to my billionaire hubby’ Feinstein is 78 yrs old and ‘clings to her power and greed’ for the benefit of Kalifornia fools.
Wow, choices made = Feinstein & Boxer – the horror!

I’ve noticed that conservative women tend to be rather attractive while liberal women tend to look like dudes in drag. Why is that?

I wish You luck Liz, but you’re too damn pretty and smart to win among those fruits and nuts. Good luck.

Liberalism exacts a heavy physical toll from its female adherents!

I wish her the best, but the Republican party in my home state is a mess. They are beyond a minority. There are probably more illeagals standing outside of CA Home Depots than there are Republicans in California.
Might as well wait for an earthquake.

whoa, what? I live in Danville, and this gal is a good un, but since I’m planning to escape CA soon I didn’t pay too much attention so…I did what any responsible voter would do and picked the first Rep. in the long list. Blow me down, I had no idea Emken won and I took my CA GOP mailer with me for all those sneaky things that you don’t know about until you get your ballot, and I didn’t see Emken named as the pick. I’m going to double check. Anyway, she’s a good un, I just had no idea she was so well known.

@Jayne–
That’s good to know (about Emken). Maybe the CA GOP will get around to letting me know something about her one of these days. Like before November 6.
They pick someone to endorse and then tell no one about her. It’s almost as if they WANT to lose.

CA is so friggin’ gone that most Tea Partiers there are affiliated with Blue Dog Dems. The R’s in that state are mostly what John & Ken say. They drop their pants and apply lotions on each other and other Dems. Emkin seems to be closer to our side than theirs. Let’s hope the trend continues.

78 years old and hasn’t had enough. This brings to mind the dictators who have to slide the oxygen mask off their face to issue more orders. They simply can’t give up that position of power.
