OBAMA Misses JOHN MCCAIN
![]()
President Barack Obama is waxing nostalgic about his former rival, praising 2008 GOP nominee John McCain for his “centrism” at one of six taxpayer-sponsored fundraisers on Friday, according to travel press pool reports.
“We’re going to have as stark a contrast as we’ve seen in a very long time between the two candidates. 2008 was a significant election, obviously. But John McCain believed in climate change. John believed in campaign finance reform. He believed in immigration reform. There were some areas where you saw some overlap.”
“In this election, the Republican Party has moved in a fundamentally different direction. The center of gravity for their party has shifted.”
He talked of deficit reduction and said, “We couldn’t get them to take yes for an answer.”

Well done, BHO. You just explained why, in part, McCain lost in 2008.

Palin was the only spark in McCain’s campaign and it’s a spark that Romney should utilize for victory.

Its like Obama is trying to help Romney portray himself as a Tea Partier – whichi he isn’t, he’s just a whole lot better than than fumb duck here.

I don’t know why. Romney is even more liberal than McCain. Maybe not the current Romney but his record is that of a tax hiker, abortion supporter, gun grabber, healthcare socializer, wealth redeistributor. And he denounced Reagan.

Obama may certainly miss McCain but I don’t and most of us don’t either. You can’t win by being a compromiser. I’m not all that crazy about Romney but he’s a hell of a lot better than McCain.

@dissident – That one way of really getting behind our candidate. (/sarc)

McCain was pathetic as a candidate…some think he didn’t even WANT to win.
As Sarge pointed out, if he hadn’t been for Palin, 2008 would have been a landslide for the Won.
One of the things that drove me NUTS about McPain is just what BO MISSES about him…all his namby-pamby talk about “reaching across the aisle”.
Grrrr…I detest that phrase!
Well, guess what. It looks as if Romney actually understands what he has to do to win this thing, and the Won has every right to be scared shitless.
He’s gotta keep doing what he’s been doing.
i.e. React IMMEDIATELY to any smear ads and lies that the WH puts out. And present the facts CLEARLY about the disastrous results O’s “policies” to date.
I think this is going to be an ugly, tough battle, but Romney will prevail in the end.
@Crusty, with all due respect, give your head a shake.
Vote for Romney as if your life depends on it, because it DOES.

He’s missing McLame because unlike him, Romney has shown the inclination to kick little barry square in his tiny nuts. Romney’s appearance at Solyndra to give a speech while his supporters were harassing Axletoad in Mass. shows a competitive spirit that McLame was lacking.
Romney will not roll over for o. And o was probably expecting that he would.
@The Doktor – I was not a Romney fan either, but you’re right, the first order of business is to get obama OUT of the WH. Our duty as citizens doesn’t end the day after inuagration. It’s up to us to hold our leaders accountable.

@Angrymike – it’s coming soon. The race card is all they will have left to play. I’m somewhat skeptical that it will work though. It’s been overplayed, and the Romney fast response team has been all over the obama teams every move. It could backfire on them big time.

Mark Zist got it – he misses the day that he didn’t have a track record to run away from.
He also misses the days when the blogosphere wasn’t as large, vocal and getting noticed in the mainstream media. In otherwords, he misses the day when he was never vetted.
Turn up the heat!

What I don’t understand is the obama administration wanted Romney to get the GOP nomination.
They said they have been planning for their attack on Romney.
Now I see that was all in BAIN… They are losing to a man playing by their own rules who is doing it in a classier manner then they could ever hope for.
McShame was brought in to get obama elected..
Now obama has to run on a Socialist destruction of America record and Romney gets to run on a very successful record from Mass..
Ha!!!!!!! on obama.

No I wouldn’t call Romeny a Conservative running on his record in Mass .. I’m hoping that his Mormonism kicks in while in our White House.. Mormons are dead set against Abortion,Higher taxes and Socialized medical.
Romney may have had to play at Liberal lite to stay in office.
But that shit won’t fly in the White House and he will be taken to task for it..

I agree… Romney has obama playing defense and he was planning on Romeny having that job..
Romney is right there back in his face with the facts and lies obama spews forth daily and MSM sucks up happily.
With Romeny obama has a fight on his hands. One I’m very much interested in watching and voting ..

Come back and remind if I’m wrong later, down the road. I’m putting it in print so it won’t be that hard to use against me. But I’m saying it…
I think that Romney will out-Reagan Reagan. He’s 65 years old…this is the last job he’ll ever take on, and to Noah’s point above, his Mormonism will indeed kick in Big-Time. This guy isn’t just a Mormon…he’s a Mormon Bishop. But if ya don’t get elected, ya can’t use the office to affect your goals, can ya?
Romney isn’t just smart; he’s shrewd. He’s been playing chess to get to this point for years, and he’s about to take the board.

The bottom line is that the selection of these two candidates reflects America’s rejection of freedom in favor of statism. America is now the type of country it used to fight against overseas. You want to pick among rags, knock yourselves out.

Awww… poor little Barry has a real fight on his hands this time. Years of opposition research by some of the nastiest political operatives the Democrats have led us to conclude that Romney’s a pretty ordinary guy who had a successful career in the financial sector. And somehow that’s bad.
I’m not a big Romney fan but I’ll vote for him rather than give the SCoaMF another four years to continue destroying this country.

It’s really THIS SIMPLE – -
Hussein or America – You can’t have both.
To NOT vote because of some pissy little “point” that you’re trying to make is a vote FOR Hussein.
Which means you do not care about America. Which means that we are diametrically opposed. And what a damn shame that is.

You’re on point like a terrier on a t-bone.
Crusty is an amusing chap but his anger is clouding his view of the Big Picture here.
We won’t change the course of 70 years of Liberalism spread across both parties in one fell swoop, in one election. But Obama CANNOT remain in office, that much is crystal clear, and only ONE MAN can bring that change now.
Romney may be small ball, but he’s the only game we have. For now.
Crusty…come on, man!

John McCain, being a racist himself, now helps Barack Obama by diverting peoples’ attention away from Barack Obama’s racist history by talking about other issues. For one big event of John McCain racist history see bobbydias dot com/johnmccain.html that primarily is about John McCain NOT having been a prisoner of war.

Romney is a ‘progressive’ like McFakeHero also says he is.
Let that sink in.
Now don’t be surprised if Romney has to do something really stupid enough to lose as per his ‘progressive’ membership.
Now what could he do stupid enough to lose this?
hmmm…. they do have quite a montage of stupidity inciting video clips.
