I believe back then Ronald Reagan was huge in the John Birch society. I remember my parents going to hear Reagan speak back in 64 or 65. The baby sitter was hot. Any way, correct me if I’m wrong but I believe the John Birch society back then was not all that different from the Tea Party of today. Maybe a little racial.

Bad Bart. I believe that back then William F Buckley, the founder of National Review, and a friend of Reagan and supporter of Barry Goldwater disavowed the John Birch Society and it’s founder Welsh?

Moe Tom. You might be right. I do remember there was a point in time when everyone seem to bail on the John Birch Society, but I thought it was after like 1966. I’ll do some research tomorrow. Actually this is kind of interesting.

The John Birch Society is not the Tea Party. To the JBS everyone was a communist, ever Eisenhower. Bunch of assholes.
