My guess is that the school district needed a place to put bad teachers — give them a “promotion” and they get to stay employed, but out of the way.
Watch for the suspended teacher to get a “promotion” to an Ass. Principal or something like that.

It bothered me on many levels, but what stuck out in my mind was that, as a teacher, she should know that she couldn’t make a statement like claiming that people had been arrested for criticizing Bush without having facts to back it up. A good teacher would never let a student put an unverified claim like that in a research paper. But perhaps I’m being redundant here: this teacher seems pretty far from “good,” as I remember good teachers.

P.S. I have a Bachelor’s in English, and I keep thinking about going back to school and getting my teaching certification. Occasionally, I get discouraged by stories of bad teachers, and then I see that the need is all the greater for some GOOD teachers to enter the fray.

Tax payers pay to have her screw up, and they pay to have her out of the school system for an alleged brief suspension. What’s next? Michelle is going to pay her a visit to make her vacation all inclusive with fresh veggies from the WH garden. After all, there is some relative out there she doesn’t have who, if she had the relative, would look just like Tanya.

If this were an isolated or rare incident it would be horrific enough, but this is a daily practice in most government schools. Ask me — I’ve had my share of phone calls to the idiot principal of my child’s high school to ask him why his science teacher is pushing bad info about global warming and about his militant activism in recruiting his students for all manner of “social justice” programs; why his LA teacher tells his students that “communism isn’t all bad”, and why ANY of his teachers are bring up Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh. If you have a kid in school, you can bet they are being fed the same leftist crap. The left owns government schools, it’s the primary leg in their takeover strategy. Secular private schools are no different.

I understand from Freedom Fighter Radio, among others, that this “teacher” has been put on “paid administrative leave”.

This woman is not teaching, she’s doing her best to indoctrinate our children.

It’s time for her to find new employment. Perhaps ACORN, The New Black Panthers, or cleanly in the Obama organization.

From the previous post about the Safeway employee who was suspended for helping a pregnant woman defend herself against her boyfriend who was kicking her.

Why is it that people who are paid with tax money always get suspended with pay but those that are paid from capital investments and profits are always suspended without pay?

Another thing that I hope will eventually change.

Since my daughter is a Pre-K teacher in a predominantly-black school, I can answer reddecaesari as to why three assistant principals are required. The black kids in her school are totally out of control. They scream, they throw things, they bite and spit on the teachers and even urinate on them. It’s a full time job just dealing with them. Here’s a redacted snippet of a recent letter I received from my daughter:

So, each day continues to be rough with the three [black] children in our classroom
who still to this day do not know how to behave in class. We have been
dealing with one of the children this week where he has been cursing,
kicking, screaming, and spitting on people. He was taken home early on
Monday by two social workers, because of his behavior. He was acting up in
class, again, yesterday, so I called the social worker and asked her to come
into the classroom and deal with him, which she did for a brief time.
Today, he was spitting on people again and not listening. When our class
came back from the library (that was their activity time today), I was told
that the same child had climbed on the counter in the library and jumped off
of it. He then crawled under the computer tables and into a cubby area in
the library. So, he was pulled out of the cubby area. He then proceeded to
try to spit on other children in our class, because he was mad. _______,
my assistant, covered his mouth with his shirt, so that he could not spit on
anyone else. When we got back to the classroom, she sat him down in front
of her. He stood up and tried to do a backwards flip type of move over her
arms. She caught him and sat him down. When she did, he reached down and
bit her arm really hard through her sweater. The attached photo is what her
arm looked like about 20 minutes after he bit her. I lost all control and
marched him and her right up to the principal’s office. I told our class to
play the silent game and completely left them alone, which I should not have
done. I was so upset and wanted to make it clear that I no longer wanted
that child in our classroom at all the rest of the day. I totally barged
into the principal’s office where she was meeting with the assistant
principal and said, “I have had it with this child. He just bit _______
and instantly bruised her. I no longer want him in our class. Give him to
the social worker or somebody, because he is not staying in our class
anymore.” Our principal said, “Hold on.” Then I said I was sorry for my
outburst, but that I have had it with that child and do not want him to
remain in our class. She told ______ to go to the clinic to make sure it
didn’t break the skin (it didn’t) and to photograph the bite. She asked me
where my class was and I told her they were fine and playing the silent
game. She told me to go back to class and take a breather and she would
handle the child. He was out of our class the rest of the day and the
social worker had to deal with him until around 12:15 p.m., when she left.
Unfortunately, another assistant teacher was stuck with him the rest of the
day. At one point, I walked by a classroom and could see him kicking the
outside door of that classroom while she was hanging on to him. After I
walked by, he bolted out that door and she had to chase him down. She told
me that she caught him and walked him around and around the school yard
until it was the end of the day.

P.S. Sorry for the crappy formatting. The “cursing” to which my daughter referred was typically a 5 y.o. screaming “F*ck you, bitch!” to her or her assistant. Where do they learn this stuff?

Name Withheld to protect the innocent: It seems to me your daughter should be able to use the spit nets they use in the Las Vegas jail system. On the other hand, your daughter would probably lose her job and be arrested.

Maybe this little darling would decide to convert to mooslimism and then would be required to wear a bag on her head. That would pretty much solve everything.

Wonder if the teachers union is in any way responsible for the way children are allowed to act in the “system”?

Please let your daughter know many of us appreciate her efforts. This small child has a future in our penal system. As we say in the Navy, “That is all!”

I can tell you firsthand she is by no means a rarity in NC Public Schools! They blame the budget, of course, but in reality there are so many administrators making $75-150,000, that the teacher pay-scale discourages all but the dumbest, the most radical laftists whose mission is to indoctrinate, and a tiny few who actually have a passion for teaching. NC Teachers haven’t had a raise or COLI in 5 yrs, I believe. The bad thing is, they have money in the budget that they end up having to “spend or lose” at the end of every year. But it has to be spent in the area it is allocated and can’t be used for salaries!
