Obama and Biden, Never Big Fans of the Other’s Speeches

From Jodi Kantor’s The Obamas, page 26:

Initially, Barack had tuned out the presidential talk, too. But he was just as disappointed with the U.S. Senate as he had been with the state senate – he had gone to Washington to do big things, but he was a junior member of a slow, rule-bound, Republican-controlled body. “Shoot. Me. Now.” he wrote to an aide, in the middle of a particularly long-winded oration. (The speaker was Senator Joe Biden.)

We may have many disagreements with President Obama, but it’s nice to know we can still find common ground in our responses to Biden’s speeches.

Then again, judging from how Biden responded to an Obama speech on the debt in April 2011, the feeling may be mutual.

If only the aide would have taken Obama literally…

I feel that way every time Obama speaks, and every morning when I wake up and realize he’s still King–I mean President.

    Thumb up +1
