Newsflash: One of the likely 2012 candidates had a polygamist father

Human Events

Only some history is troubling.

Montana’s Democrat governor, Brian Schweitzer, decided to do his bit for the War on Mormons with a Daily Beast interview on Thursday:

While discussing swing states, Schweitzer said Romney would have a “tall order to position Hispanics to vote for him,” and I replied that was mildly ironic since Mitt’s father was born in Mexico, giving the clan a nominal claim to being Hispanic.

Schweitzer replied that it is “kinda ironic given that his family came from a polygamy commune in Mexico, but then he’d have to talk about his family coming from a polygamy commune in Mexico, given the gender discrepancy.”

Women, he said, are “not great fans of polygamy, 86 percent were not great fans of polygamy. I am not alleging by any stretch that Romney is a polygamist and approves of [the] polygamy lifestyle, but his father was born into [a] polygamy commune in Mexico.”

Ben Jacobs of the Daily Beast hastened to explain to readers that George Romney “was born in Mexico in 1907 to a family of American Mormons who fled to Mexico when the United States government cracked down on the practice of polygamy,” but George Romney’s parents “were in a monogamous marriage.”

It just gets better and better. Every time the left think they have the goods on Romney it turns out the uglier past belongs to Obama.

And all Obama has left is his own record.

Typically I hate late fall / early winter. This year I can’t wait for Novemeber.

Do we have a good hash tag to trend this too?

Will this next presidential election be decided by the hashtag vote?

Gee, can’t you say the very same thing about Obama’s father and grandfather. And in this case, it’s a known fact, as opposed to raw speculation based on stereotyping (and hey, isn’t that the original sin of all humankind?)

    How stupid are these Democrats?

Besides the current-day, still-loved muzz polygamy, Romney’s staff should immediately bring up MORMON Harry Reid as soon as the disparagement starts.

Even if it was true a polygamist is still not as bad as a communist.

    Good point MJA,

Everytime they attempt to smear, which according to them they don’t and only republicans do, Obama haunts them………sooner or later you’d think these world class morons would just shut the hell up and say nothing.
These radical leftists with their everspewing media, internet and pieholes are doing the republicans a favor.
Whats even better is these guys don’t know how to shut up, disrespect is the only thing were ever taught by their stoned gangbanging hippy parents.

Can’t wait until the commercials start coming out.

Why is the Democrat Media Complex trying so hard to tear down Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid for practicing Mormonism?

I wonder if Romney has secret Mormon Marriages that the Obama camp will expose once he is the Republican candidate. Is this the best that the Republican Party can produce for a candidate?

I’d like to know exactly when and where RELIGION became important to this nation OTHER THAN the freedom to PRACTICE it?!?!

My God, I hate it when I have to put my caps on and scream!

I am old enough to remember when this nation started their gossiping and fear-mongering about having a CATHOLIC in the White House! JFK was probably our most conservative president in the 50 years that came before him, but we still had to discriminate! Now, we have a near-Muslim, socio-christian Marxist living on the sacred grounds of the White House and people want to bring up ancient discretions of the Latter Day Saints?

If Rick Santorum were still in the race for the presidency, would people blame him for the recent sins of sexual misconduct by priests in the Catholic Church? Well, I suppose if you’re a democrat, you would. What’s worse, is most of those democrats blaming him would be Catholic themselves.

It’s all very sickening to me.
